Auburn Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

Any chance you mind sharing GPA and ACT scores? I am curious with the VIT invite as I remember it went to the high stats kids a couple years ago and curious what stats they are using as a cutoff this year.

Is she in state or out? Is it 4.0 weighted or un weighed ?

My daughter is OOS and has 3.8 W/3.68 UW GPA. 1260 SATs. National HS member, Varsity sport, captain, work outside of school for 4 years plus volunteering. Interior Design internship, graphic design course outside of school. Wants to major in Interior Design. Applied EA1.

What is the VIT Invite?

“Very Important Tiger”- an invite only event for top scholars who have applied. Usually ACT scores 33+, SAT 1500+, high GPA, etc. Each year the cutoff is different so I am curious the cutoff this year.

OOS, 4.0 is UW

In 2023 it was Friday 10/13, last year was 10/11. Looking at this year’s October calendar it looks like it could be 10/10. I am hoping it is 10/10 and not 10/17- this is D26 top choice and her dad and I will be out of town on 10/17- I would hate to have her receive a deferral when we are not here with her and of course if she is admitted I want to be here to celebrate.

She has a 3.96 UW and 4.63 W. ACT composite of 33. VIT stands for Very Important Tiger and they told us when she was there that she got the invite because she is up for their presidential scholarship, although the exact cutoff scores for that won’t be fully know for a couple months. Being invited does not guarantee acceptance or scholarship offers. Also, keep in mind we are in-state and cutoff scores for out-of-state might differ.

It is a personal and customized tour. We had 2 of the sweetest ladies take us around campus for various appointments. Including honors college and a meeting with the dean of the college for her major. If invited, I highly recommend everyone to go, if able. We had already done 2 general tours there, but the VIT tour made her feel important to them, it was a great day:)

My D26 received an email from admissions this morning asking her to submit her “activities”. They said it was optional. She had already uploaded her resume back on 8/1 when the application opened so was surprised to get this email, especially one day before the 9/15 deadline. She went ahead and filled out the activities form they sent and submitted. it. Anyone else receive this or know if this is indicative of a deferral for round 1? She is definitely worried now that they have already decided to defer her and are asking for more info to use for round 2 :frowning:

My son received the same email today around 10AM EST. We also attached a resume with activities/work/volunteer/etc first week of Sept. when we completed the application. So seems redundant. Maybe something they are emailing out to anyone who maybe as of now is below a threshold (thinking the scholarship grid)??? but that is just a guess. maybe someone here with a better SAT/ACT score can have their child check their email to see if they also got this.

I did look at Naviance and for my sons school in NY nobody has ever not been accepted with a 90+ avg and 1300+ SAT. But I do realize it is getting harder every year so he did take SAT again this weekend and plans to take it in Oct as well and will see what happens.

if it helps we are OOS

1320 SAT

91.9 unweighted grade avg

I will try to call tomorrow but might be tough to get through.

Yeah I think she is right on the line- 4.1 GPA and 29 ACT- I feel like 30 might be their cutoff for round 1 for OOS but praying she has a chance.

In the past round 1 has seemed to be the “easiest” (my son is a junior at Auburn so have been tracking this for a few years).

If I remember correctly 28 ACT/1300 SAT for OOS, seemed to do it last year with A- avg. But that is just me trying to remember and only representative of those posting on this board. so very anecdotal and far from official.

Could it go to 29/1340ish this year? certainly a possibility.

Last year the Academic Charter Scholarship for OOS was 3.5 9GPA and 29-30 ACT according to the website. So I would think 27-28 last year would have had a good chance of getting in. does that all bump up this year? maybe and if so would not be surprised.

My daughter got one too, no idea if it means anything or if it was just sent out to everyone who applied.

We did not get one but our stats are lower. OOS, 3.7, 1240

Applied 8-4

That is indeed interesting. Thanks for sharing that!

Did your test scores make it? We had ours send last week and they are still “pending” in the College Board website, so they haven’t even sent them yet. I assume the scores won’t make it and we will be pushed into the October 15th round. Frustrating that the College Board can’t just electronically send them when they are ordered. My other test scores were sent within 2 days when requested.

Same here and so frustrating. My daughter submitted her application last Tuesday and requested test scores be sent but College Board still hasn’t sent them. It shouldn’t take so long with today’s technology. Money grab for the rush fee! I’m hoping they still consider her in round 1 since she self reported on her application, but I’m seeing conflicting information about that.

She emailed Auburn admissions to ask about that, but I imagine they are swamped with emails today. So, I doubt she will hear anything. Will let you know if she does!

My daughter did the same! Will let you know as well.

They responded saying to send a pdf of the official score and they will try to use it as a holder until the College Board releases the score. I think she uploaded it under the “Optional Essay” because there wasn’t another place to do so. Fingers crossed it works!
