Auburn Early Action Class of 2030 Official Thread

Thank you!!! I’ll have my daughter do that now.

I rushed our SAT and it arrived within 48 hours at Auburn. The ones I did not rush are on day 9 and still not received by other colleges.

Thank you for letting me know. The College Board monopoly!

We got the email too about the activites form, but he is just now seeing it. He already uploaded a resume with his application, so I feel like the actitivies form would be redundant??

D26 4.0/4.5 with 35 ACT superscore and applying engineering, OOS. She did not receive that email. She submitted via common app on 8/28 and also uploaded her resume. Most of her friends applying EA1 have similar grades and >30 ACT, > 1300 SAT. She also, to my knowledge, has not received a VIT invite, so perhaps its in state only right now?

DD received the email, but just saw this morning. I am going to have her complete today and hope that she will still be in EA1. Her applications says awaiting decision and she received a postcard from Auburn saying her application is complete. She also uploaded her resume as part of the EA application. Feels very bizarre and redundant. She is OOS applying for Engineering. 3.78uw / 4.3w. 1460 SAT

I agree it is totally redundant. She did it anyway- Auburn is her top choice and she will do anything they ask at this point to ensure her best chances. But of course it also rattled her because she is now reading into it and feels like it is a bad sign. Every year there is something with these applications where everyone reads into things to predict the outcome.

Looks like the College Board sent out the scores this afternoon and Auburn updated the applicant portal. The date listed is 9/16, so I’m not entirely sure if the file will be seen as completed on time. But, hopefully! Good luck!

Anyone receive an invitation to apply to the Honors College? Curious why they would send that before acceptances go out. Mean anything?

If your child’s scores meet certain thresholds (top scholarship levels), maybe they send an honors invite out to keep that applicant engaged and show programs like honors college are available? just a guess

my son did the same. just entered all the items on the resume he previously attached into the “Activities Form.” We can guess and speculate till the cows come home, but that’s all it is in the end. Who knows…

Thank you! College Board sent the results today for my daughter as well, but Auburn hasn’t reflected them in her portal yet. I suspect she got bumped to second round.

Does anyone know if Auburn uses the applicant’s weighted GPA or unweighted? My son’s weighted GPA is 3.89 and SAT is 1390. But, his unweighted GPA is only 3.3. He applied in the first round of EA. But, I am worried the common data statistics and merit scholarship ranges are for unweighted GPAs (or a recalculated GPA like some colleges do).

They use the weighted GPA, but they recalculate it. Some won’t see a difference, while others do. All depending on how the points for honors and AP classes are given at their HS. Or at least, that is how I understood it.

My daughter applied August 2nd. The VIT invite came (I think) 3 weeks later. If you get one pick a date asap, they book up quickly.

They recalculate- add weight for AP/IB classes. When my S24 applied they did NOT add weight for Honors, only AP. Not sure if that has changed. D26 can’t see her Auburn GPA in her portal- where would she find it?

My sons received one. Not sure if it means anything or if everyone got one.

Hi, I was wondering if someone could answer how to submit an official dual enrollment transcript as part of the application - should it be emailed to our regional rep, or sent to the undergraduate admissions office (admissions@auburn.edu)? Thanks!

The dual enrollment classes appear on my daughter’s high school transcript but Auburn still requested the separate transcript from the college. We therefore sent both the high school and college transcripts from Parchment to Auburn. What’s strange is that only the high school transcript displays as being received in the admission portal, despite Parchment confirming they were both downloaded by Auburn. Admissions isn’t telling my daughter they need anything else so I believe they were sent in good order. I suspect if we didn’t send the college transcript, Auburn would be asking for it in the portal.

The following is in Auburn Admissions FAQ regarding dual enrollment and reading this again, I can’t tell if the college transcript is needed now for admissions but we sent it in anyway: “Under normal circumstances, the dual enrollment college credit will appear on your high school transcript. However, to ensure that college credit earned is included in your record, a transcript of the dual enrollment coursework should be sent from the college where the credit was earned.”
