Did your daughters get emails to check their portals for updates?
Mine did. She got an email saying there was an update in her portal. Otherwise, she wouldn’t have looked again until March!

Anyone have an educated guess as to when Honors acceptances will come out?
Does Auburn admit many test optional applicants in the three EA releases or are the generally regulated to regular decision. I know they prefer to have test scores, but they still had TO as an selection, and that is what my daughter applied as…
Did she meet these TO conditions? Auburn says in admission sessions and to counselors that less than 5% of admits will come from the TO pathway.
Who is eligible for test-optional admission?
Applicants with at least a 3.6 GPA and unable to test will be reviewed holistically through our test-optional pathway. Any valedictorian or salutatorian from an accredited Alabama school with 50 or more graduates will also qualify for admission. Scholarships, honors participation and other opportunities may be limited for students choosing a review without test scores.

Does anyone know when Honors acceptances are announced? Also, when do they announce additional scholarships applied for through AUSOM? (Other than merit)

I have a son who graduated from Clemson and a current student at Auburn. Both thrived at their schools and loved the campus culture. I don’t think you can wrong with either one! We are from Pennsylvania, so it’s a long car ride either way.

Are Clemson and Auburn really as alike as people say, if you don’t mind me asking. D26 accepted at Auburn and deferred at Clemson. Going to visit Auburn in a few weeks and can’t wait to see it, she is quite excited. We are wondering how the two schools compare and if either one would be good for pre-med in terms of getting clinical experience since neither school is affiliated with a med school. She’s in at Penn State, which is really the same boat as those two, and waiting to hear from Ohio State, which probably is the most obvious choice for proximity to hospitals, med school, etc. Still, she has more excitement over Auburn and Clemson as a home for the next four years, so we shall see. We are from PA though and I’m wondering if she would struggle at all to find her people.

So we are also from Pennsylvania and my two older boys also were accepted at Penn State. My oldest son absolutely loved Clemson and it was the perfect place for him. My middle son got offered the bridge program at Clemson, but I’m glad that that happened because it allowed us to take a second hard look at Auburn where he received Merit and that’s where he currently goes. From a parents perspective both schools have an extremely similar vibe, but we find that Auburn seems just a little bit friendlier than Clemson, even though you can’t go wrong with either one. at Clemson my son had no problem finding other kids from the northeast as a lot of students from New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Pennsylvania go there. At Auburn, most of the out of state kids are from neighboring places, such as Georgia Tennessee, Florida, Louisiana. While, there are a few that have attended Auburn from our high school it’s less common for kids to go there from the northeast. all that being said my son has felt very comfortable being there from day one most of his friends are from the Birmingham area and he has gone to their houses to celebrate holidays. I also feel like the quality of life at both of these schools is wonderful. Best wishes to your student! I’m really hoping that my youngest son chooses one of these schools as well (he refuses to apply to Penn State, lol ) War Eagle!

Thanks so much pghmom72! That is really helpful to know more about each school. It’s hard to know the finer details of universities that are so far from home. Sounds like your two older boys both had great experiences! Hope your youngest son finds a great fit for himself (I understand how he feels, D26 refused to apply to Pitt, even though it’s a totally amazing school.)
My S26 applied TO and barely meets the minimum. We were surprised to find out today he was deferred.
My son has been accepted but still considering the best fit between Auburn, Tennessee and South Carolina. He wants to pursue optometry after college…does anyone know how strong the Biomedical Sciences program is at Auburn? We toured the school and specifically the COSAM school…just curious if anyone else has experience with a student on this path? Strong curriculum? Good professors? Adequate guidance counseling for the path?

Are EA 4 decisions out? My daughter was deferred 11/14 EA 2. She submitted optional statement and mid year grades, hasn’t had any updates.
I believe so. Expected them in early Feb. but I’m seeing posts on Reddit, Facebook, etc. about decisions yesterday.
