Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2024 Admission

My daughter got no email but her boyfriend who just checked got in. Why would she get no email at all?

Can students accepted regal decision still get merit scholarships?

Admitted after deferral from EA…what are our chances of housing? Admitted students info? Would love some insight.

We got in today! Says business so assume it’s a direct admit.

Would love insight on chances of housing too.

My son accepted RD, also. Now we just have to worry that he’ll be living in a van down by the river.

Why? Did housing fill up already?

Yes.

Over a month ago maybe two. Have your kids find a roommate with a dorm!

Is that even possible or are all spots filled?! I didn’t realize EA students have already chosen housing, I thought they had times assigned but no specific housing yet. Eeeek!

why would they fill up housing before they even accepted their full class?

Omg same. The housing portal is closed. The off campus housing looks pretty decent though.

Room selection times have been assigned and first day is March 19. There will be a lot of movement between now and May 1 when students who have paid and even selected a room either decide to move off campus or decide not to attend Auburn. Pay the $100 and ask to be put on the waitlist for housing and in the meantime, have your student try to connect through social media to find a roommate. Plenty of off campus housing that is practically on campus and some are even closer than official on campus buildings.

I recommend to anyone here who has Facebook to join the Auburn Parents page and Auburn Class of 2028 page. Lots of very helpful info.

We have a housing selection time slot for 3-25, but my son doesn’t have a roommate. Can he select a room without a roommate? Can he just take 1 bed in a 4 bedroom suite, or 1 bed in a 2 person room, then try to get a roommate later?

By the time his time slot comes around, hopefully there will be singles left and he can grab one. There will likely be other people in the other spots already. And if he happens to grab a spot and there is another open, it will probably get filled before he finds a roommate. His best bet would be to find one before room selection, and hopefully that guy has an earlier pick time.

We are in the same boat with the roommate situation. My son’s best friend he was planning to room with has decided he is not going to Auburn. He seems really down about it but does not want to talk. A few weeks ago, he told us he thought he should just go to our instate flagship where all his friends are going. He didn’t even apply there and certainly didn’t meet the scholarship deadline. The RD is now closed so that is not a possibility. Since then he has shut down all college talk. I tried to talk to him earlier today, and all I got was Auburn is still his first choice out of his four applications. His room selection date is March 25. He hasn’t completed the roommate questionnaire yet. He was originally so excited about Auburn. Now he doesn’t seem excited about college at all. He’s going to have to figure it out soon if he wants to get a room. We are going for a VIT tour on the 28th. Unfortunately, that is after his room selection date. I’m feeling a little anxious about it all.

You can go random/solo and just choose an open bed. Other kids can fill in similarly. There’s a larger discussion of this on the Auburn parent Facebook page—selection starts March 20 and closes April 19. There are advantages and disadvantages to choosing a roommate ahead. My son plans to go solo and we will be excited if he gets an on campus spot.

What is your flagship school?

Yes and he will have a much better chance of getting a good spot if he goes in solo.
