You mentioned having another daughter at UF. Our daughter will likely be deciding between AU (OOS) and UF (in state.) Any feedback in what led to the decisions for your girls would be great. And how you would compare experiences between the two thus far?
No major listed on my sonâs letter either.
Why would you change them to undecided? Will that increase their chances? Asking because my son was also deferred and applied engineering.
@GirlDad3 I do not have one at Auburn yet! It is in a three way tie for my daughter. LOL! Auburn is WAAAY more southern IMO and UF is more âMiamiâ. I am not even sure she had a reason for choosing UF other than she got in, she got the grandparent waiver, it was ranked the highest and it was different. (we are from GA so UGA was boring to her). She loves it! However, most core classes and a lot of business classes at UF are online so keep that in mind. A lot of people are surprised and upset about that. More so the parents than the kids. UF is twice as big so that is a consideration as well. Auburn feels more small town than Gainesville for sure. Auburnâs sororities are in dorms and UFâs sororities have houses if she is considering Greek life. I hope this helps.
Congrats on the acceptance! War Eagle! And, yes, we are also getting the invalid message. If someone finds an answer to solving this, let me know! Itâs happening on both Safari and Chrome for us.
My daughterâs application still says pending decision. Do they do decisions in waves? We are OOS from the Northeast. Thanks
Yes. Basic academic scores like GPA, rank, and test scores. They did allow an upload of a resume, thankfully, which our son did.
We found out he got in last night! War Eagle!
OOS
Major: Music Performance (IntendedâŠstill have to audition)
GPA: 4.35 / 3.82 unweighted
SAT: 1250
Extracurriculars: Music and band ensembles, clubs, taekwondo (3rd Degree)
Demonstrated interest: Toured campus, met with instrument professor, contacted admissions reps, contacted Director of Music
The batch who received letters yesterday most likely submitted all materials and the application by Sept. 15. Thatâs what an admissions rep told me. They release in batches in mid-October, mid-November, and mid-December. Hang tight, and GOOD LUCK!!!
Found out late last night that kid was accepted, OOS pre-business.
1330 SAT, 4.04 weighted GPA. She is very happy as Auburn is at the top of her list (aside from her reach school).
Congrats to those accepted and best of luck to all those deferred. The wait is difficult but seems like more often than not, the deferrals turn into acceptances.
We are also having the issue of âinvalid user nameâ when trying to log in with her new Auburn user name of 3 initials and 4 digits. The Next Steps materials seem to indicate that enrollment/fee of $250 is first, then the activation of the Auburn User Account.
So I canât tell if enrollment is a suggested first step or a required first step to allow the user name to be valid. Has anyone been able to activate the user account without enrolling?
We did. Did you go to this link?
Thank you, we did go to that link. Just tried it again. Still invalid username. We have tried my iPad and her school laptop. Darn!
She copied and pasted thd user name instead of typing it in. I doubt that made a difference but itâs worth a shot. Lol!!
I am almost 100% certain you do not pay the enrollment fee first. LMK if you ever figure out how to log on.
Not 100% sure if this is the issue⊠but I saw an old thread on an Auburn IT support site mentioning it could take 24-48 hours for user names to populate so perhaps that is it. Having the same invalid user ID error still.
Has anyone else besides my daughter gotten the link to work? Very strange if itâs just her.
Yes, we have gotten it to work.
Agreed! Iâve seen many portal acceptances with my kids, and this one was very special. They did a great job!
No, that wonât have a bearing. Frequently Asked Questions | Office of Undergraduate Admissions
