I didn’t see any references to majors. Mostly just curious if some majors are having higher entrance stats due to number of slots, or if it didn’t matter.
hi! for those that were accepted in the first round of early action when did y’all receive your honors college invitation?
My OOS state was accepted as test optional for Culinary Sciences major.
Her OOS friend was deferred with a SAT of 1250 for kinesiology. That friend’s admission counselor called her and said since her SAT wasn’t at least 1350 she was automatically deferred. Admissions counselor said her application wasn’t even looked at before being placed in deferred. I don’t know if that SAT score is kinesiology specific but thought that was interesting.
Yes, my daughter was accepted in EA1 and received an Honors College application invitation shortly thereafter.
I just checked and the honors college email was sent Tuesday late afternoon after the Friday acceptance.
My son was accepted for computer engineering EA1, but just submitted the housing application today. Looks like the portal opened on November 6. Does anyone know if EA1 students generally get better housing? Did EA2 admits have access to the portal yet? it has the student rank, six different dormitories, so some investigation is involved before submitting!
E1 usually gets in during the first 4(?) days of housing. It is super competitive but if flexible you will likely have a spot. E2 admits have not been able to access portal yet. I think they will have access in Dec.
Yikes, it opened 12 days ago…but it would still be before the EA2 people, so we were hoping he’d have a chance at housing.
So if my son applied for housing 12 days late during EA1 round, he might not get housing on campus? He kept waiting for an email from Auburn telling him the portal was open, not realizing they send it to an Auburn email, not his gmail.
I think my son already missed the boat on housing even though he is EA1, because he applied 12 days after the portal opened. what’s the best way for out-of-state people to learn about apartments close to the engineering school? I think that’s on the north end of campus based on our tour in my feeling of what was north versus south!
Well he may not have been 12 days late. The email sent to his Auburn email assigned a time slot where it was open for him to apply. It was randomly assigned if you read the posts here earlier. So he may have only been a few days past his time slot!
Typically engineering classes don’t start until Junior year, math and physics were in Parker, not sure where they are now but the engineering complex was typically for higher level classes. Even coming in as a 2nd semester sophomore you will be taking more classes outside of the engineering complex. It also depends on what type of engineering - not all of them are in the engineering complex. My son was Aerospace undergrad and not sure he had a single class in the engineering complex but his masters in Mechanical was. The busses pick up at most apartments around campus and they run pretty well - may want to focus more on budget and what they like.
I wouldn’t worry about it - he will almost for sure get housing just sign up now. I have a current student and when they open housing, it is chaotic but if you are flexible (ie not being in a group of 4 who insist on living in the village or wherever) he will find a spot.
My daughter received acceptance last Friday and I really was wishing it would come
a day before as it was her 18th birthday! We are all super happy!! This blog is very helpful and I want to thank everyone here for taking time to post updates and suggestions that keep is all hopeful during the entire process.
Would she now get a link to housing and as per her it would occur during the first week of December. Please share your experiences.
Thanks everyone!
Yeah! I am so happy for her!
Last year’s thread indicates that people got their email letting them know their housing application date in their Auburn email a couple of days after EA2 admission. Obviously things can change!!
My daughter is still waiting for hers too.
My daughter was EA1. Acceptance letter on 10-11. Housing email on 10-25 or 10-28. Based on that, I’m thinking you all might have to wait another few days for EA2 housing emails.
Has EA1 heard about merit yet? My daughter was accepted EA2.
I was about to ask the same thing. My D was accepted EA1, and we haven’t heard anything yet. Checked last year’s thread, and it looks like notifications started around 11/21.
