Ours just popped up. Prob not good news. Assuming decisions coming out tonight or tomorrow?
that makes no sense! iām so sorry for this frustration
My S25 applied EA1. He also has an unweighted 4.0 GPA on his transcript, and multiple AP/Honors classes. Auburn does not share how they recalculate the GPA, but his was similar to yours at 3.82 (I think). It makes absolutely no sense and his school counselor agrees. He was deferred, but his test scores were also what is considered average these days, so not surprised. The thing that bothers us is that they are so secretive in how they recalcualte the GPA, but itās out of our control. Most other schools heās applied to are fairly transparent and his GPA is more in line with his transcript. Best of luck!
I donāt know what your test score is, but others posted EA1 with similar GPA I think, and got in. I really think they focus mostly on test scores. My sonās school also reports on a 100 point scale. I went crazy trying to figure out how they calculated his, but nothing ever matched. He was also told they donāt share how they recalculate, but they do it to make it fair for everyone. Heās still frustrated with his low Auburn GPA. Thankfully other schools recalculations seem more in alignment with his grades earned.
Hi - my SAT wasnāt good -1220 which I know was below what they want - but was hoping my GPA would help - just got deferred from South Carolina too ā¦
Did he get in? I am sorry if you posted it some place - I may have missed it. I am sorry he is frustrated - it is hard because SAT - you have a glimpse in time ⦠you study take a test and maybe do over a few times. GPA is years of constant effort - I am super happy for all those who got in and think they deserved it regardless of how the GPA is calculated.
Absolutely agree! Very, very happy for his friends and others that got in!! He was frustrated at first with the deferral, but heās got a great attitude and said heāll be happy most anywhere. Gotta love his easy going attitude towards all this. Ultimately thought, Auburn is/was his first choice, so weāll see. Heāll find out in March with RD, but he might choose someshere else before then. His SAT was 1240, so similar to yours. That really isnāt a bad score, just not competitive for Auburn and other schools in the last few years. Remember to love the school that loves you back. Everyone finds their place. Best of luck to you!!
Do we know if decisions will come out tonight or this week?
Did you receive an e-mail tonight?
No. But I will have my son check again. His gpa is now posted.
It looked like kacie99 might have received a deferral tonight. Iām curious. We are waiting. Gpa was updated earlier this week for my daughter
Nothing still waiting
GPA is appearing now. Not sure when it appeared. Was not there last week. Good luck to all!
FYI
OOS accepted in EA2 last month and the email ended up arriving Friday night close to 9 pm est.!!!
Hi sorry - no nothing official - just assuming - SAT is lower than I know they like and with the ārecalculatedā GPA itās not looking promising. UTK and Uof SC have the correct GPA and deferred on both - so just too competitive right now - but I am happy for the continued consideration. I am just worried Auburn will be a straight no
I am sorry if my message was misleading. No deferral yet
I keep thinking about you, I know itās hard waiting. I have faith you will get in, keep the faith!
I reread and just misunderstood. No worries. The waiting game is hard for all. I wish you luck! Your stats are good!
Same here @Kacie99. Your outlook and support of others is amazing and a true testament that youāre so much more than numbers on a transcript or a test score. Iām rooting for you because we need more kids like you in the world!
My fingers are crossed for you!! If you get deferred, be ready to write a LOCI and update your grades. I also recommend reaching out to your regionals admissions counselor. You have such great energy on this board. I really hope you get accepted this week!
Wow Thank you so much! This really made my night! Itās 130AM - canāt sleep so worried about this - but reading this really made me feel great. Thank you so much!
