Auburn University Early Action for Fall 2025 Admission

My daughter is in Honors College, and to be honest, the biggest perks have been Honors only housing (she and 3 roommates got the exact room they wanted) and the priority registration. Classes fill up very fast, so having an earlier time slot is helpful not only getting a seat, but also the “good” times and professors.
Other perks include social events (free food!), Honors only study room, study abroad and leadership and scholarship opportunities.
It does cost an additional $250 a semester.

Thanks for the insight. My son did the application for the OOS RLC in the Quad but now that he was accepted to Honors I think maybe he should do the Honors housing.i believe that is in the Village? I guess he will have to decide which location he prefers.

I’ve seen no mentions of anyone receiving Talons or VIT invites. Last year’s Talons events were posted on the website on 2/7 and the events started on 3/1. I’m wondering if they just aren’t doing them this cycle.

They are. The first one is 3/7 but invites have not gone out yet. I think I posted the other dates in an earlier post (the school told me the dates in response to a email but they could change, I guess). They were all in March on either Friday or Monday. I think 7, 17, 21 and 24

I think both the Quad and the Village have both OOS RLC and Honors. Matthews in the Village is honors. My daughter wanted a “private” room, so she picked the Village. The Quad is a great location, but older buildings and shared room (with one) and bathroom (with three). Village is close to Tiger Dining (and a Chick Fil A), the rec center, and they do offer a parking deck relatively close. A lot of people LOVE the Quad, so its just a matter of preference! But Honors puts themm in a great position for housing.

My son is one of them that loved the Quad - it’s just soooooo college dorms! The Village is nice but it’s honestly just apartments.

Does anyone know…if you accept honors invite by the March 1st deadline for honors housing, but by selection day the student decides to room with someone not in the honors college, can they last minute decide to room with them in a non-honors room? Or are you basically locked into only being able to pick an honors room if you indicate that by March 1st?

I thought I had read somewhere that is listed as an option but you are not forced into picking an honors dorm. I cannot find that specific post though.

I do know the honors website says you do not have to live in an honors dorm so I would guess what I stated above is correct but hopefully others have a more definitive answer.

You can select any room that is available. HC students will be able to view Honors-only rooms along with everything else available.

My son has no interest attending Auburn since he has been accepted to his 1st & 2nd & 3rd choice schools. He was deferred & didn’t update w/ midterm grades should he just email them he has no interest attending? Or let it just play out?

I would email them if you are no longer interested so he isn’t potentially given a spot when he has no interest. A lot of kids waiting.

Has anyone else still not heard either way?

Are you referring to admission decision or honors? My son is waiting from EA deferral.

Honors

Our son received a decision from the Honors program last Friday via email.

Has anyone’s student applied to an RLC? Are the RLC dorms hard to get into?

My S25 received a new merit scholarship from Auburn today! Very surprised. He was accepted back in October.

Has anyone received a TALONS invite? Someone on FB mentioned their child receiving an invite via Auburn email today.

Does anyonne know why the admissions portal reflects a housing application date in February? My daughter has her email from housing that she submitted on November 12th. However, when I login to the admissions portal is says 2/17/2025. I am assuming this is just when it was transferred into the admissions portal?

I saw some people received but my son did not. Still hopeful maybe they are going out in waves.
