australian students!!

Hey aussies

Just wondering what you all are doing about regular decision vs. early decision. Where is everyone applying ED. i am from vic so i’m doing VCE and im wondering if it will be a disadvantage to apply ED to UPenn which is my first choice, because the VCE scores become available on the 15th of December which is well after the Nov 1 ED application deadline

??

Thanks :D

I think it’s better to RD, because I’m pretty sure anything after deadline isn’t accepted…

well you have to weigh that your unweighted test scores will be sent (which for australian students usually looks pretty bad) but hope for ED, or wait on RD with your correctly weighted UAI (but potentially miss an offer from an Australian university, and more time spent in uncerainty)

*can i jsut clarify, what exactly is ‘unweighted’ test score?
does that mean our raw school marks without any hsc standardization?
if so, i suggest you DEFINITELY wait RD… because if you want to apply to the ivies and similar, you should to be top 1, 5, 10% etc… if you go to a selective, you know what i mean. our school scores might be just around average, but ATAR wise we’ll still be top 1%, but the admissions wont know that from just our plain school marks…
but thats just what i think.
