Baseball Playoffs

So as I was listening to ESPN on the radio on my drive home from work I heard about the firing of Chili Davis. I had to laugh. Are you telling me that with all the talent the Cubs have on that team that Chili Davis is the reason no one can hit the ball in September /October? That one man made all these stars forget how to hit a baseball? With all the millions these players get they can’t hire their own person to get them to hit a baseball? The entire team slumped badly and I really can’t recall the last time this had happened

The hitting coach is always the first to go.

Looks like the pitching coach is next… Ha…

Gabe Kapler made the Phillies forget a lot of stuff.

I would say the the odds that a whole team would quit hitting for long stretches is pretty much nil. There was a theory mentioned that perhaps the players just went back to their mean. That may be true, but not all at the same time, that’s virtually impossible. Which leads to 2 other things - the approach, as dictated by the hitting coach or perhaps the manager, or the weather and dimensions of a ball park. It clearly wasn’t the weather, so it has to be the approach - a lack of discipline. And that is on the manager or coach. I suspect that the culprit really falls on the manager, but Maddon chose to let Chili Davis be the fall guy to save his own job. This isn’t the first year this has happened, it has happened all 4 years that Maddon has been here, where hitting comes to a halt towards the end of the year.

Very cool to see the Brewers pitcher hit a home run! My teams are all out so I am pulling for Milwaukee, even though I have never been there in my life!

If I weren’t a lifelong Dodgers fan, I’d be pulling for Milwaukee too. Fun young team, pretty weird/interesting, great coaching, lots to like.

I like beer too, so there’s that!

Looks like some free burgers in Milwaukee!

Unless I just jinxed it.

Maybe I did just jinx it, it’s now 6-4…

baseball truly is the most nerve-wracking sport.

Yep, you jinxed it, @notrichenough. Just kidding: the Brewers are doing it to themselves right now.

The Brewers bullpen is reminding me of the Giants bullpen implosion against the Cubs back in 2016 in the NLDS, losing 6-5. Come on Brew Crew.

This game is taking years off my life.

Alrighty then.

Woohoo Justin Turner!
so…Milwaukee’s supposed to have suspect starters and a lights out bullpen. Dodgers are getting shutout by the starters and hitting .333 against the relievers. Baseball is so weird.
Heading back to Chavez Ravine!

The Dodger crowd was pathetic. And it’s not the least bit surprising. Go Brew Crew.

JBJ with the SLAM! 7 RBIs form the 9 hole in the past 2 games. That’s depth!

That’s… astounding, is what it is, considering he hit .234 with only 13 home runs and 59 RBI this season.

But I’ll take it! B-)

Looks good on Osuna.
