Baseball Playoffs

Almost over…

Yes!!! Congratulations to the Red Sox!

The teams had never won a game he started. He wasn’t the losing pitcher in all 9 games. The game in the ALCS he didn’t get the win, but the team did. Now he has 2 wins.

Good for them. They deserved it. Go Sox.!

Yay! And I get to go to bed before midnight -double yay!!

=D> =D> =D> I am glad the Red Sox won.

I was mocking Joe Buck, because I feel like it was mentioned a bunch of times.

But it’s true though.

Price got the win in game 5 of the ALCS. Prior to that he started 11 playoff games without a win, and had an 0-9 record in those 11 starts.

He got a win in last year’s ALCS as a reliever, and a win in the 2015 ALDS as reliever.

Prior to that he had no playoff wins since 2008.

Steve Pearce wins the MVP. Can’t argue it too much.

What at team. Greatest total team I can remember, maybe of all past Red Sox teams. I credit Cora with a lot of that.

Pearce was great! Price should have been the MVP in my book!!

Go Sox Nation!!!

I’m 54. I “watched” this game with 5 of my still close high school buddies as we were group texting all night (almost every batter). We’re spread out around the country. I had to remind them, the last time we “watched” a game together was at this certain pizza joint in 1986 when that Billy Buckner thing happened. This one was a lot happier!

:-*

I lied, I stayed up past midnight, I couldn’t stop watching all the celebrations back in Boston.

Saw this article this morning, my favorite is the 12th one down when they are singing We Are the Champions. “No time for los-ahs…” :))

My husband shares the name (first and last) of one of the Red Sox players who did well. I got him a Sox tee shirt with the player’s name that he wore last night. At the bar where we watched the game, DH asked the bartender if he could get a free drink due to his name, and the guy said yes! Now I’m going to get DH a World Series jersey.

@MaineLonghorn Is your husband named Mookie too? =)) That is cute, he will love the jersey!

Congrats to the Red Sox. They are a really great team.

My team is supposedly looking for a new SS for next season. I hope they do not go after Machado.

I also hope the Dodgers stick with Roberts. For all the physical problems the team overcame to get to the WS, he deserves a lot of credit, IMO.

Red Sox fans are cruel. On the radio this morning, they said that thanks to Roberts, the Sox won two WS championships.

I am SO glad they won last night!! A game going to 3am when you have to be to work at 7 is a killer! I couldn’t take another late night!

amen!

Of course the Patriots have to have a Monday night game so I will have one more late night…

I know I picked the worse of two evils and rooted for Boston, instead of the Dodgers, but sheesh, is the Boston bandwagon getting full yet? :))

The 1986 “Bill Buckner” reference is so famous that it made for a classic scene in the Good Will Hunting movie. I’m surprised there’s no mention of being a fan back in the Luis Tiant or Carl Yastrzemski days. =))
