Baylor University Early Action / Early Decision for Fall 2024 Admission

My daughter had an update in her goBaylor account today that she did not get an I2E scholarship. Pretty disappointed considering the lengths we went to to travel across the country for the event. It would have been nice to have more transparency about how many scholarships they were actually going to give out.

D24 did receive an I2E scholarship, but it was only for $5K per year. So even with it, it’s still less than she got anywhere else. :woman_shrugging:

I mean, there’s still hope for a little more from the honors college, but meh. Her initial merit was only $19K, so even with the faculty scholarship it’s still less than her top 3 choices.

Congratulations.

I got the Baylor excellence award or something (10k/yr, 5k/semester), but I missed the deadline for the 3k/year renewable scholarship (forgot the name; had to attend a virtual event though)

Curious, did anybody who attended the virtual I2E get any scholarship out of it? My son couldn’t attend either initial dates due to auditions, we emailed and they offered the virtual. The format was completely different than what was available in person from what I can tell. No interaction with the faculty or anything that would have given them a sense of who you were. Nothing to write about in your essay either… it was more about honors college.

We weren’t even aware that there was a virtual option for I2E. Was that only offered to some students? Those who said they couldn’t attend the in-person sessions?

Yes I believe so

So I think we have moved on from Baylor.

Baylor was by far the lowest merit D24 received, and even after receiving a faculty scholarship at I2E was still the lowest merit she received. On top of that, while the reception on Friday night was amazing, D absolutely hated the mock lecture and breakout session on Saturday for the Honors College. There is just not really anything feasible that could happen to get Baylor back in contention.

Best of luck to you all!
