BC Regular Decision Fall 2022 Admissions

Are apartments easy to find off campus? My son is a senior at NYU and lives in an apt.
Manhattan is expensive, but he had to write a thesis, and with all the disruptions from COVID we didn’t want him disturbed.

Also, what is the closest airport?

Your DD sounds amazing !

Good look to you - you sound like an amazing person - you will go far!!

Daughter accepted. Chicago Suburbs. Legacy. 32 ACT two sittings, 34 superscore. Varsity captain Junior and Senior year Dance. 3.9 unweighted. Not sure how many AP classes but enough. Three previous children rejected with nearly her stats.

DS22 - Waitlisted RD
4.0 UW GPA - usual honors and APs - school does not rank
1570 SAT (one sitting 790M/780V)
Accomplished musician (played national venues - NY, Chi, etc)
NHS officer etc
Varsity athlete
Top public HS outside of NYC.

Limited interest other than a basic tour.

That’s not crazy. The vibe is completely different at Rice versus BC. Rice thought your D fit.

Apartments shouldn’t be too hard to find. Closest airport is definitely Logan Airport, around 15-20 min drive depending on traffic.

Thank you for the information.

Thank you! I think she is, but I’m a little biased. It just goes to show you that you don’t know what these schools want. We are very grateful she is here and was able to to even apply to college. Life for her hasn’t been easy, but she persevered!! She will be graduating as Salutatorian and will be accepting the Stamps Scholarship to Notre Dame tonight…we were just waiting on this decision. Best of luck to your student!!

4, 4.81 weighted
SAT: 790M and 750V
Not sure how good recs were as we didn’t read them
Varsity sport 4 years (2 season sport)

We knew going in that all the applications gave him was just a lottery ticket purchase. In at Colgate last night and BC today but waitlisted at Villanova and Northeastern.

He will go where he was meant to be and every time we have received some bad news I remind myself it’s not my journey, it’s his.

You are right. Finding an apartment is not difficult and the school has a website for some listings.
When you get 3 year housing offer, it really means that you have to find an off-campus apartment for your junior year. Even if you live off-campus on your sophomore year, you cannot live on-campus for junior year.

It just proves that every school wants something different. My daughter was waitlisted today at BC (Business)but received full Presidential Scholarship to Villanova (VSB) and Stamps Scholarship to Notre Dame (Mendoza Business). It’s a crazy and frustrating process and so hard for these kids to understand the rejection. Best of luck to your son.

I would think a 3-year housing offer would mean Fresh, Soph, and Jr years (3 years).
Then you have to find housing senior year.

Something to think about.

Very true!

I believe that it is housing for freshman, sophomore, and senior years, with most BC juniors choosing to live off campus during their junior year, and then returning for their senior year. I may be wrong though.

No, only for junior year.

Maybe study abroad? My DD does want to do that.

I’m very happy for you and your daughter. She sounds amazing and I’m sure you couldn’t be any prouder of her accomplishments. I would say that my own heart was truly broken with ND’s denial to my S22 in REA. I wish your D22 all the happiness at ND. I loved everything about that school. Honestly not too heartbroken about Nova or NE as they were not likely targets for him based on his career objectives. But, one always likes being asked to dance!
