D accepted!
Stats: 4.0 UW, 35 ACT (first try), 10+ APs and scored all 5’s except a 3 in Spanish. All honors otherwise. Loads of ECs - including leadership positions. Part time job. Internship at hospital (senior work study). LOR’s were probably average. Essays solid but her BC supplemental was really good.
Other schools -
Notre Dame (deferred then rejected)
Villanova (deferred then waitlisted)
WashU (waitlisted RD)
Accepted at: Iowa Honors, Purdue Honors, SLU Honors, Dayton Honors, and Saint Marys.
D will be sitting on this good news overnight but will likely be declining the offer.
Congrats to those accepted and best of luck to those who will be going elsewhere. What a crazy college admissions year.
My son received 4 years of housing and he was an ED2 admit and definitely not the strongest candidate based on other stats I read. We were told that the 3 vs 4 years of housing is randomly selected.
Saint Mary’s College in South Bend.
Over the past few months (after the heartbreaking ND deferral) she had a shift of heart and was really won over by the small personal feel of SMC. I think she realized she is better off as a big fish in a small pond. Presidential Scholarship didn’t hurt either!!
We are all feeling very excited and settled just in the past week with her choice. BC is impressive and she definitely feels honored to be accepted but so much changes in the months between app submission and decision days.
Just checked with my BC soph who works in the admissions office, 4 years of housing is given to students with disabilities, nursing students, some athletes, and some of the top applicants (they do not put a percentage on it). As has been mentioned, many who receive 4 years of housing still choose to live off campus junior year.
My daughter got in ! It is her first acceptance from what we thought was a slew of Target Schools. Rejected Northeastern, Waitlisted UNC- Chapel Hill, Deferred University of Michigan, Deferred Georgetown (but there are no rejects for EA).
Here are her stats which appear similar to those on this thread that were accepted, rejected and waitlisted:
SAT 1490; 4.7 WGP, 3.93 UW, 14 AP’s, NCL and lots of Community Service.
Good luck to all. This process is crazy, and this week is a big one for our kids.
D22 Accepted. 1500 SAT, 5.03 WGPA, 8 AP’s, Lev. 10 gymnast, active in community. (Plus her Dad thinks she’s really awesome. Hehe). Congrats to those in. To those who didn’t get the news they wanted, hang in there! Lots of great schools out there.
I think I read it will be released in 24-48 hours, but honestly, I couldn’t cite that info— and may very well be mixing BC up with another of DD’s schools!
Yay! Congratulations. But, you make a good point about “what we thought” were target schools. My son just got waitlisted from BC (that we thought was a target) after getting admitted to 1 safety, 1 target, and 2 reaches (selective LAC’s). But with his BC waitlist, it indicates that BC is probably no longer the “target” we naively thought it was. (For reference, he is white, male, Catholic at a large public school, visited campus during pandemic even though OOS, and has stats that put him squarely in the range for BC.)
I think bc looks way beyond stats alone. I think they really care about if you fit on campus which can be shown through your activities and essays. if your stats were in range but you didnt get accepted I think it might because bc doesnt think that you align with what they want in a student apart from grades (morals, desires, interests, etc). fyi I was admitted today with low stats but I made sure my application reflected how I see myself at bc and how what im doing now fits into bc
I 100% agree with you that BC “looks beyond stats alone.” I do think it’s super weird that you wold imply that my kid didn’t align with their “morals.” Yikes!
Son accepted with 4 years housing.

Visited last Spring Break (2021). He was super impressed that students were on campus and in classes…unlike most universities at the time.
