Big Little Lies on HBO - watch it all today!

Anyone watching Big Little Lies? It’s a 7 part miniseries based on the Liane Moriarty book. The book was set in Australia, but the TV series is set in Monterey, CA. The finale is on tonight, but if you are feeling like binge-watching you can see every episode, starting today at 3pm eastern time. Stars Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman, Laura Dern + others you may recognize.

I’ve heard that it’s great; looking forward to watching it. Shailene Woodley is in it, too; from what little I’ve seen of her, I think she’s a good actress. I’m hoping to see her demonstrate it in this miniseries.

I’ve been watching from the start and am looking forward to the finale tonight to see how they wrap it up. I read the book a couple of years ago and, so far, it has followed the book fairly closely. It has a terrific cast, the acting is excellent and the setting is beautiful. I know one of the children so that makes it even more fun.

@NJTheatreMOM , Shailene Woodley is very good in it.

Love it love it love it!

The series is better than the original book.

The music is outstanding.

My book club read the book one summer and now we have gotten together to binge watch the series, two episodes at a time.

The scenes with the therapist and Nicole Kidman have been praised by real life therapists.

I watched the first two episodes with my college aged daughter, and she predicted as much of the “who did what to whom” as is possible without knowing a few pieces of information that we won’t know until the last episode.

Enjoyed the book but enjoying the series even more. Wish it didn’t have to end!

Have been watching from the beginning. I’m also reading the book which I picked up at the airport but early going.

I’m glad to hear others are enjoying it too! Having lived in that part of California (nearer Santa Cruz), it’s extra fun for me. Yes, Shailene Woodley is terrific.

I got pretty hooked on Liane Moriarty’s books. I think I’ve read most of them. I like seeing the many parallels between life in Australia and in the USA. Her latest, Truly Madly Guilty is really good. Also, the narrator on Audible for her newer ones, Caroline Lee, is a good reader and voice for the stories.

Can hardly wait till the finale tonight!

We don’t normally get HBO, but I activated a free 48 hours just to see part of this.
Is there any way to see all of the episodes in the next couple of days? (I don’t watch much TV, so sorry if this is a silly question).

@1214mom, If you activated HBO you should have HBO OnDemand. You can see all the episodes. Go to the channel and click on HBO Series and the Big Little Lies.

@emilybee, thanks, I will try that.

So looking forward to tonight. Haven’t read the book so may read. Nicole Kidman has been great in her role. Also have enjoyed Laura Dern.

I just happened to read this book in the fall not knowing it was coming out as a series. I enjoyed the book. Would like to see the series but don’t have HBO. Do HBO shows ever make it to Netflix???

You might be able to get a free 30 day trial with one of the HBO apps-

Check out HBO NOW. It is a streaming service that is cheaper than subscribing to HBO through your cable service provider. I think you can get it free for a month. Maybe this is the sort of thing that @leftrightleft is talking about.

Excellent finale. I won’t give anything away. I was concerned that loose ends would be left dangling - not the case. Satisfying.

Yes, I wondered how they would wrap everything up in an hour but they did an excellent job. Such a good mini-series.

Was it true to the book? It’s still too early here to watch.

@NJTheatreMOM - yes I used the HBO NOW app on my iPad .

They hit it out of the park with this one,it was incredibly well acted and it drew me in to the story to the point I forgot these were actors playing the character. It also amazed me as it unwound how the characters I didn’t like ended up being sympathetic. One warning, the opening song is an incredible ear worm, the song in its entirety is very powerful too:)
