If you’re looking for a brief amuse-bouche of a show, “Staged” is a small delight.
David Tennant and Michael Sheen play themselves (well, heightened versions of themselves!), during 2020 when their play rehearsals were cancelled. Their hapless director convinces them that they should press on.
They’re friends in real life (which comes through) and there are also several other actors who drop in and make appearances. Here’s a small sample trailer:
Sunday is my new “must see” (make sure they record) tv night - the line up on PBS with All Creatures Great and Small, Miss Scarlett and the Duke and my favorite new show Funny Woman. I parcel them out through the week, as all a joy to watch in different ways. Funny Woman is new and I hope has more seasons to come.
Just watched all 6 or 8 shows. Interesting because it is based on a true story. During this time, major law firms were offering significant bonuses to those who would accept an associate position in their South Florida offices.
Some strong performances by actors also makes the series interesting to watch.
Side note: My family & I dealt with this in the Florida Keys. Also, frequently went to Miami & Fort Lauderdale for shopping which was a dramatically different experience than living & shopping in SW Florida (Naples & Sarasota).
Would like to see another series about the Florida Keys during the 1980s. There is a series, but I got bored after one or two episodes & quit watching.
Guessing you meant the end of part2, Ep 5.
The most surprising thing is that I’d forgotten Nikki lived in what looks like a half-million pound Victorian terrace with a nice garden.
(The rest was… DUH)
We are watching Snowfall on Hulu. It’s about the beginning of the crack cocaine epidemic in the US. Ran I believe 6 seasons from 2017-2023. Superb acting. Many moments of saying “what are you doing!” at the tv screen. Highly recommend
We’re enjoying “The Night Manager” although we find Amazon Prime annoying. It doesn’t save our spot when we stop watching. So we have to watch an entire episode and then remember which one to watch the next time. Netflix is so much easier. And now we have to endure ads on Amazon!
