Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

H loved Killing Eve (very violent). All the leading characters were female.

We finished Baby Reindeer (Netflix) tonight.
It was dark, but well done. The actor who stars in the film originally created the work for the Edinburgh Festival. Apparently, Gadd had a woman stalking him in real life.

Was reading some of the individual stories real-time in the Oxford Mail. Unbelievable what they did to those poor people.

And apparently the real life stalker is threatening legal action.

I’m sure I’m the last one in the world to watch this (per usual  ) but I’m watching The Bear and watched Seven Fishes last night - actually split the episode into 3 watches cause it was so intense! I think I need to do a rewatch now that I’ve looked up and figured out everyone who was there!

Wow, she was a piece of work in the show. I guess she is in real life, too. I read that the creator is annoyed that people are trying to figure out the identity of his abuser in real life. I would be nervous if I were that guy!

That episode was so accurate!

update

I want to watch something on pbs passport (American river) and it looks like I’ll have to pay for access (I watch call the midwives on it for free). It looks like $10 a month is the cheapest. I wonder what else I can access, any advice? I just had a very expensive weekend involving Boston and a wedding and yet I’m trying to avoid spending $10.

Husband and I watched Baby Reindeer over a couple of nights. We thought it was very well done.

Almost everything I want to watch on PBS is only available to Passport members but so far I’ve resisted paying for yet another service, although I may cancel one of my others and do Passport. Call the Midwife episodes are available free a week after so I just watch a week later. Some other shows you can watch the two most recent episodes for free and then they are Passport only so I try to watch those weekly as the newly free episodes are released. Others, like All Creatures, are only Passport.

The comedy Abbott Elementary referenced The Bear and the Seven Fishes episode a few weeks ago.

In Nashville, you can purchase PBS Passport for $60/year (same in KY). It seems to be linked to your local PBS station somehow. Not sure if other geographic areas are more expensive.

I donate $60 per year, ($5 per month) to Boston PBS and get passport for the year.

YoutubeTV has PBS as one of their channels. We previously had HULU live and switched because of issues we had watching HULU when we are traveling. I record quite a few shows on PBS.

Me too, donating to PBS via the metropolitan NYC stations. Money well spent.

YES—not sure where the $10 per month number came from. You can certainly give more than $5 per month and get tote bags and other merch.

These are my options

It looks to me that you go to the “Other” box and type in $5 per month = $60 per year, as it says above the choices that $60 or more gives you Passport, etc.

Or you click on “One-time” and then enter $60 for the year.

Ok I’m going to do it, I’m sure there are other shows on there that I’d enjoy, and we are always contemplating getting rid of cable since we have so many streaming services.
