Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

There have already been some deviations from the movie so I expect there will be a twist.

Spoiler below:

Biggest difference I’ve noticed is the pregnancy. In the movie the big reveal involved the discovery of victim having a tubal ligation when earlier evidence was presented of DNA in spermicide. So the twist will be different.

I read Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow when it was first published (1986). I don’t remember the ending. I’m watching the series on Apple TV and enjoying it. In fact, a new episode airs today.

My husband and I both read the book early on, and he remembered more about the story than I did. We decided to rent the Harrison Ford movie over the weekend since I wanted some closure and I’m impatient waiting for the weekly rollout. He either remembered the ending or figured it out early in the movie, and now doesn’t want to go back to the miniseries, but I think it will be interesting to compare the two. I liked watching the movie. better than the series for several reasons, even though the technology from the early 90’s seems so quaint.

I know the original ending and it seems the series has some details inconsistent with it

Halfway thought the second season of Resident Alien on Netflix. Really enjoying the sense of humor.

Is anyone else an attorney here and confused that a prosecutor is ( in first episode) expected to be solving the crime? Isn’t that the job of detectives on the police force?

They don’t call it Lalaland for nothing!

I really like Dark Matter. I think it gets better as it goes along. The acting is really good.

The Turow books were set in Chicago

I don’t think the show was filmed there.

I’m not an attorney, but I’m assuming that there’s a bit of artistic license.

I’m sure I mentioned this before, but anyone here watch the seasons of reality realty shows?? I finished the 4th season of The Parisian Agency - a wonderful series that is NOT drama packed like the American realty shows.

I tried and will finish out Owning Manhattan. Sure there is some office drama, but I just LOVE seeing the real estate - and NYC is so interesting because there is such a style difference between modern Manhattan and Brooklyn charm.

I need to try Owning Manhattan.I love NYC real estate.

Has ā€œHacksā€ been discussed here? I have had multiple people recommend it to me.

There is definitely some of the big-headed office drama. I have a love-hate relationship with the owner. He is full of himself for sure, lol, but also sort of seems like a nice normal guy. Some of these shows become more drama/relationships than seeing real estate - so far, this one has a pretty good balance. Some of the views, INCREDIBLE! Only 8 episodes, like 45 minutes each.

I loved, loved, loved Hacks. And there’s another season coming. The last season ended with a bit of a cliffhanger.

I’ve really enjoyed Slow Horses and I see Season 4 is scheduled for September! It’s been my treadmill at the gym show (watching on my phone propped on the treadmill shelf) and I’ve walked a lot longer as I’ve been absorbed in an episode. The other day it was a really intense scene and all of a sudden I realized someone was standing right next to me and I gasped out loud. I took out my headphones and the young woman who works at the front desk said ā€œI just wanted to tell you that we close in 10 minutes.ā€ :joy:

Loved Slow Horses and happy to hear a new season is coming in the fall. We’re currently enjoying Suspects on Britbox, a police drama with 4 seasons, interesting characters and a little different perspective from typical police procedurals.
