Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

Thanks for the “Hacks” recommendations! I started watching it this morning since it was Colonoscopy Day and I needed to be distracted. I really like it.

Watched the first two episodes of Hacks last night. I loved it, H was okay with it. I will definitely continue watching.

This is the best thread ever! I never would have heard of a lot of these shows without it.

I don’t know whether I recommend it or not, but someone recommended The Extraordinary Attorney Wu to us, so my husband and I watched it. We liked it enough to watch the second episode of the series. I think it’s a Korean drama, and Attorney Wu has autism, but she’s also a genius.

Funny, I just picked up watching more episodes of Extraordinary Attorney Woo last night (after watching the first 3-4 episodes and wandering off to watch other British crime dramas).

We like it. It is predictable but very cute. We are happy to hear that there will be Season 2.

I started out loving Woo but liked it less and less as the season went on.

My review of The Bear season 3. Not really spoilers * but don’t read further if it will bother you.

Lots and lots of beautiful shots of food, lots of close ups of actors’ faces, too much of two minor characters, a few back stories and not much plot advancement. Then I read this season is a “ filler” season because it was originally intended to be a 3 season show and FX asked for a 4th season. I don’t regret watching, though, and am not saying don’t watch it.

*because there wasn’t really anything to spoil.

Wow - I could have wrote this! This is exactly how I viewed this season.

Thanks for the review! I feel better now somehow. I just thought they lost their mojo.

Same! Well done but underwhelming and not enough of carmy or kitchen time

My goodness. “A Gentleman in Moscow”. A remarkable movie based on a remarkable book. High recommend.

Just finished watching the 4th episode of the new season (9) of Grantchester (PBS). I like it! If you were a viewer and thought the show had become a little stale, check this season out.

I binged all 3 seasons of the Bear this weekend. Seasons 1 and 2 were incredible. Season 3 was a slog for the most part. The fast forward button sure got a workout.

I didn’t even recognize Jamie Lee Curtis at first.

I agree about season 3. I read it’s essentially a filler season. Apparently the original plan was three seasons and the end of season two teed that up… but then they were asked to stretch to four. It shows as the storyline really went nowhere.

We haven’t watched Attorney Woo, I tend to get irritated by autism comedy, but we’ve really enjoyed other Korean rom-coms, in particular Crash Landing on you and Crash Course in Romance.

Business Proposal another light Korean rom-com that I enjoyed.

Yeah, I didn’t know much about the show before the Emmys. And then I saw it here.

I’m now starting Happy Valley, which wasn’t on my radar until the BAFTA’s.

TBH, I should just copy whatever’s on @MYOS1634 's playlist, since we seem to like the same things.
