Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

We loved The Old Man! We watched it when it first came out on FX two years ago. The second season is coming on FX on Sept. 12 and we’re really looking forward to it!

I wasn’t sure where to put this news, but it made me happy!!

I heard about this yesterday, literally right before I went to a NY Liberty game where Jason Sudeikas was sitting just a bit in front of us. Apparently he’s a huge fan.

Super psyched for a new season, even if it doesn’t include him. The rest of the cast are all amazing.

Interesting. The finale did leave open some possibilities for future plot lines.

I just finished Presumed Innocent (on AppleTv); the cast is fantastic, it was very well done!

Just finished 6 feet under and need to finish up presumed innocent. We tend to start several shows at once. Just started chimp crazy (H loves chimps and weird TV).

We started rewatching Alias. My H found it on Disney+ this weekend. We watched and loved it when it originally came out about 25 years ago. Watching all the familiar characters get introduced in the first episode was fun! It also makes you realize how much the quality of TV shows has changed (not for the better) with all the streaming services.

We just binged The Good Ship Murder on BritBox. It’s fun, somewhat mindless entertainment, if you like the genre. A British TV show that takes place on a cruise ship - think the Love Boat crossed with Murder She Wrote or Midsomer Murders.

A retired police detective turned cabaret singer is the main character. He helps solve the murder(s) and sings a song for the big finale at the end. Meanwhile the cruise ship visits interesting places, like Lisbon and Casablanca, as a back drop. There is love-interest tension with the first mate, who is dating another crew member.

Not really binge, since episodes release weekly, but the first episode of season 4 of Only Murders in the Building (Hulu and Disney+) dropped today.

We just finished season one. Now we wait.

“Trying” on Apple is heartwarming show. It’s about a couple trying to have a family, and when they cant get pregnant, they decide to adopt. The casting is great, and it’s funny, quirky, and sometimes a little sad. I’m on the second season of four and highly recommend it.

We watched Lady in the Lake through the end. I thought it was pretty well done, but the second to last episode was someone odd.

The first 3 seasons are the best. Season 4 probably didn’t need to be made. Which is my feeling about the potential 4th season of Ted Lasso

Bummer. It seems so common that the last season of a show is a disappointment.

I agree about Ted Lasso. Another season isn’t needed. I’ll watch it, but I thought it all wrapped up nicely.

We are actually enjoying Season 4 of Trying. Yes, the first three seasons made a nice set. But the five year skip-ahead is good too, still makes us laugh. (Part of the enjoyment admittedly comes from the fact that we will be visiting London next month.)

Back when, dh didn’t want to continue “Emily in Paris”, was very blah about it. So, recently I picked it up again for myself and I just love it. I do. Just the city shots are wonderful. We stayed very near her apartment building two years ago and I didn’t know it!! My youngest son and his wife and 4 y.o. daughter are literally about to take off for a “long” weekend in Paris for their anniversary. I find myself being jealous.

We just finished watching A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder and both seasons of Unstable. We thought they were both good summer entertainment.
