Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

I loved Fisk. Your post made me look to see if there would be another season and apparently they just started filming Season 3, which so far is only schedule to air on ABC, which evidentially means the Australian Broadcast Corporation.

There’s no indication that it won’t be shown on Netflix. ABC is simply the network broadcasting it on commercial television

Worst Ex Ever on Netflix. Just four episodes. Very well done with high profile cases (I remember a couple of the news reports).

Just finished the fourth season of Trying. I was originally a bit put off by the six year skip ahead, but by the second half, I thought it really picked up and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Now there better darn well film a fifth season, because that is not an ending!

Just watched first episode of Bad Monkey (Apple TV+). Very entertaining as I thought it would be with Vince Vaughn starring.

Fish is on?!? Thanks!

My wife and I have been binging on Preacher, and the jury is out. It is interesting, but also filled with gratuitous violence, and it is just plain creepy. Best taken in small doses.

We loved it, but is definitely gruesome

I must confess, Eugene creeps me out

We’ve also found “Bad Monday” (Apple TV) entertaining. Wish the episodes dropped more quickly.

I just finished watching The Terror on Netflix. It’s a 2018 series, described as “Haunting, suspenseful and based on true events, The Terror centers on a perilous Arctic voyage by the British Royal Navy. It’s an extreme tale of survival in wholly unforgiving landscape - with the crew’s fears exacerbated by an unknown threat.” I know, it doesn’t sound too interesting but it was really good! It stars Jared Harris, Tobias Menzies, and a whole host of British actors that I wasn’t familiar with but the acting was exceptional.

For fans of Death in Paradise and Beyond Paradise, there is a new Aussie-produced spin-off - Return to Paradise - which premiered today on iPlayer. No word on when it will be released to US platforms

Anyone watching The Perfect Couple based on the Ellen Hilderbrand book?

I’m on episode 3 and pretty hooked.

I started watching The Perfect Couple a few days ago. I’ve only watched two episodes so far but I’m also hooked!

Thanks for “The Pefect Idea” idea. We go to Cape Cod often, and we’ve been to Nantucket (hmmm
correction, Martha’s Vinyard - similar. So it could be fun for us.

We need a new series. Tried “The Terror” last night, and neither of us is keen on it. Also considering “The Three Body Problem”, which my husband has suggested. (I wanted to read the book first, recently slogged through it. Methinks watching the story could be more enjoyable.)

Binged on The Perfect Couple and watched it all over two nights. I’ve read all of Elin Hilderbrand’s books, including this one. I thought the series was pretty good—not totally true to the book, but close enough. The filming also took place in Nantucket as well as Chatham/Eastham on Cape Cod.I saw a film a few years ago based on a book by another Nantucket novelist and set on Nantucket that was filmed in Vancouver. It annoyed me to no end—Nantucket does not have mountains!!

I love watching shows with beautiful people with lots of money who have gorgeous houses (I feel like the last 3 Nicole Kidman mini series have been exactly this: The Undoing, Big Little Lies).

The show/mystery would not be nearly as engaging if it were a middle class family in a suburban tract house serving macaroni salad at the rehearsal dinner

I usually insist on reading the book before watching the movie/series. But I was in the mood for something just like this so I went for it. Only 5 episodes though, what?! Assuming there will be a second season. And soon I hope!

Re The Perfect Couple. I found it just too annoying. I don’t really like Eve Hewson as an actress. I know she’s trying to down play the nepo baby status but just not a fan. And all the womens interest in the father character struck me as interest in Liev Schieber . Like if he weren’t LS I don’t think they would have found him so attractive. I just don’t think he’s aged well. Unlike Nicole Kidman.
