Binge watched tv shows (Part 1)

I absolutely loved Velvet. I have watched it all the way through twice. It is available on PBS which I have through Amazon Prime.

I am slow. Just finished Season 4 of Slow Horses. It’s my kind of show, a thriller with a sense of humor.

Love any scenes between Lamb and the Second Desk. Oldman and Thomas are excellent actor and actress.

No wonder River was in such a good shape. Was there any episode that he did not run?

Can’t wait for Season 5 and happy to hear that there will be Season 6, too.

We really liked ā€œ No Good Deedā€ so last night we watched the first 2 episodes of ā€œDead to Meā€. I’m on the fence. It was fine but I didn’t get into it as much. I’ll give it a few more episodes.

Over the past couple of weeks I watched Season 1 and caught up to current in Season 2 of Severance. I’d considered it several times but wasn’t sure if it was for me. My son watched and told me he thought I’d like it and he was right. Has a Lost vibe.

I watched the first couple seasons of Dead To Me but bowed out in the last season. The Good Deed did a much better job of adding in that crooked humor.

Don’t know if anyone here has watch Selling Sunset (one of my guilty pleasure shows at first and now just have to watch the train wreck…) but Linda Cardinelli looks SO much like Chrishell! I could not get it out of my head.

ā€œClean Slateā€
I can’t see that anyone has mentioned this yet. It’s a new 8-episode show on Prime (or possibly Freevee?) that I’m really enjoying. Norman Lear was involved - possibly his last project?

Laverne Cox and George Wallace star. I’m finding all the characters extremely likable, even the kid!

This is the description from IMDb:

Harry, an Alabama car wash owner is surprised when his estranged child returns home after 17 years, now a determined, proud trans woman named Desiree.

Season 2 of The Recruit was pretty ridiculous, but we did watch the entire season.

We loved Estoy Vivo. The family relationships were really heartwarming. The last season was a bit disappointing, I liked it better when things were a little weird as opposed to a lot weird.

Paradaiso is another Spanish show we watched last year, it’s a little bit like Stranger Things at least in the sense of having teens and the supernatural.

Finally got around to watching the Dexter origin show. The actor playing young Dexter does an amazing job (Irish actor Paddy Gibson). He nails the voice and mannerisms without being a ā€œcopycatā€. The production and writing isn’t as outstanding as the acting, but it’s forgiveable IMO. For those of us growing up in the 80s-90s it is fun to see Christian Slater and Sarah Michelle Geller.

Well, shoot on The Recruit. We’re trying to find a series we both want to watch. We’re on episode 4 of the recruit and like it well enough to continue. Maybe we should finish our the season and stop.

We tried Night Agent and only made it 3 episodes. The writing is terrible and I thought the acting not far behind.

For fans of the UK series Unforgotten, be on the lookout for season 6, which premiered this week across the pond. While I miss Nicola Walker’s DCI Cassie Stuart, this season was quite good

I love Unforgotten! Do you know where it will stream?

I’m assuming it will air on PBS and be available via Passport, but haven’t looked hard to validate

I had to look back to see who recommended In My Skin because I just finished season 1 and… wow!! It’s so sad, and frustrating, but also hopeful. Great characters and great acting.

I’m so glad you liked it! I thought it was terrific.

This will be the second season without Nicola, correct?

Am starting Episode 1. Missed Cassie but liked Jess in S5. Will see how this turns out - a spine in a marsh sounds more ghoulish than usual.

Just finished Silent Witness - are they all moving?

Also started Episode1 in Boarders (S2). Things are being set up nicely - American exchange student, secret society getting in the way of semi secret relationship, new Head of School, etc.

Do you know when Resident Alien S4 is returning?

It’s really not; all will become clear.

Sounds like it

Nothing official. My guess is 2026.
