Binge watched tv shows (Part 2)

Bingeing Ginny and Georgia season 3. It’s basically background noise for me, but I have a connection to the fictional (based on reality) location. I like to judge its judginess to see if they get it right.

Just finishing the latest season of Abbott Elementary. Spoiler alert comment about the second to last episode (haven’t seen last yet):

The reference to Endgame was hilarious! “On your left!”

I loved the first 2 seasons of The Gilded Age and was astounded they canceled it…then to find out they were in fact bringing it back was exciting - but 3 (or 4) years later? Had to rewatch the first 2 seasons again and just prior watched Downton Abbey again - just to get in the mood! Facinating how class life was and the wealth disparity back then (going that way again now) how the nouveau riche overtake old money.

We just finished Pulse on Netflix.
Typical emergency room drama, mostly relationship drama, but it’s been so warm we’ve resorted to watching more TV.

Our Max subscription expired sometime back and we were using S’s Hulu login. Last night I broke down and signed up for a Max/Hulu/Disney+ bundle. Now I can binge even more!Disney is mostly for GD.

I find that hat most anything I watch besides some reality and Abbott IS streaming - it’s what is most useful!

Watched the first 5 episodes of Watson on a flight (all they offered), now I have something to binge this summer, finishing up the season.

The whole season is only 13 episodes, FYI

Don’t you just hate when the first couple of seasons of a show are so good, and you anxiously wait a year (or more( for the new season to drop and end up disappointed?

Season 4 of the Bear (Hulu) dropped 10 episodes last night. I watched all 10. It was quite a letdown. I cut some slack with season 3 since it felt like they didn’t expect the positive response and created a filler season, but this was much, much worse. Such a shame

Yup, I’m aware, thank you. Actually going to re-watch the first 5 eps at home, as after I described the series to dear wife, she’s now interested in the series. Re-watching with captions, I should get more of the fine points. Nothing worse than trying to listen to dialog through headphones on a noisy jet plane, when only one of your ears works.

Just finished all 6 seasons of Animal Kingdom on Netflix. Wasn’t the nature documentary that I expected.

Well darn. I watched the first episode last night planning one a night for the next ten nights. I was hoping it got better. Don’t spoil it for me though since I’ll probably still watch them.

Disappointed to hear that the new season of The Bear isn’t so great. I wasn’t crazy about Season 3–some episodes better than others. I’ll still go ahead and watch the new season. I was a huge fan of Shameless and think Jeremy Allen White is terrific actor.

Dh and I just finished this season. Loved it.

Just finished North of North after your recommendation and I really liked it :+1::+1: It manages to be a very relatable story and a completely foreign location/culture.

We’ve watched 8 of 10 episodes of The Bear Season 4. I enjoyed what I’ve seen so far, but agree with those who’ve said it seems a bit repetitious and the storyline is moving along slowly.

I was surprised to see Rob Reiner’s name in the credits (he was in two episodes). I hadn’t seen him in ages and definitely didn’t recognize him!!

He focuses more on directing and producing these days, but does occasionally appear in front of the camera, including recent tribute specials to Norman Lear and Dick Van Dyke. And looks the same to me.

Watched Mariska Hargitay’s documentary, I thought it was really good, with some secrets.

Dh and I started The Handmaid’s Tale last week. Why didn’t anyone tell me that it was a documentary? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

There are a few shows in that vein for me. I watched Last Man on Earth in 2020. It was released in 2015, and the storyline is about an epidemic that wipes out most of the Earth’s population in 2022. I’m sure I had a whole different level of interest in it than I would have if I watched it when it originally came out (well, that and I was a pretty captive audience during lockdown).

I also loved Years and Years. It was filmed in 2018-19, and the story spans 2018-2035. It felt so real, yet dystopian and prophetic, at the time since they touched on everything going on with tech, authoritarianism and society. I’d like to rewatch it now, where it’s not all about the “future”.
