Oh no! We are both Team Richie, but I’m Team Jeremiah!
I will say Conrad didn’t seem as awful in this new season.

I finally watched Daisy Jones and the Six. Even though the two main characters were intentionally unlikable, I still liked the show and enjoyed the music.
For me, it’s pure age-inappropriate carnal desire. lol Jeremiah has beautiful eyes, but he’s so flighty. Doesn’t surprise me at all that he’s a dope-smoking frat bro in college who screwed up multiple ways in college.
Well, that’s true. Jer is much more flawed this season
Watched Building the Band on Netflix (eagerly awaiting the last episodes). Amazing talent on this show and very fun to watch (and listen!)
The contestants can hear but not see each others auditions and then hit the button for a chance to build a band with them. Interesting format. I’m sure more than one band will be launched from this show.
Anyone else watching the newest Dexter? We’ve watched the first 3 episodes and I really like it. It’s much more like the original vs the sequel.
Anyone watched Acapulco on AppleTV+? I am about to start.
I’d never heard of it before last week. Let me know how you like it!
I got a new TV (Prime days sale) and I was setting it up last night and adding all my streaming services. There are a lot of shows I hadn’t realized were available to me.
I did find a (short) documentary on Netflix the other night The Quilters about some men in the Missouri max security pen who make quilts for kids in foster care. All their materials are donated, they have some nice sewing machines and a Long Arm (machine that quilts). They take great pride in their quilt creations. I enjoyed it very much (I am a quilter but not to that extent and I yearn for a long arm).
I just finished all 5 seasons of The Bureau (Paramount+). I missed it first time around on Amazon. It’s one of the best series I’ve seen in a long time. It has amazing characters and the acting was excellent. In French, with subtitles. Highly recommend!
“Based on real accounts and inspired by contemporary events, this French spy thriller follows the daily lives and missions of members of the country’s external security service – France’s equivalent of the CIA. It focuses on intelligence officer Guillaume Debailly, code named “Malotru,” who is mysteriously recalled to Paris after spending six years under cover in Syria. As he tries to re-connect with his daughter, ex-wife and colleagues, Debailly risks everything by resuming contact with his married lover, Nadia, who might have secrets of her own that jeopardize the agent.”
Has anyone else watched Untamed on Netflix? We’ve started it and are liking it. It reminds me a little of Dark Winds.
I watched two episodes of The Bear, Season four. So much better than last season. Everyone seems to unwind, despite that damned countdown clock. The big one.
We finished The Pitt. We enjoyed it a lot. I’m happy that they decided that a cliffhanger wasn’t necessary. Being a bit squeamish, the authenticity of the ER was difficult to watch at times.
The Raw Power of Repentance
There was a time when I believed that the two most powerful sentences in the English language were “I love you” and “I’m sorry.” I now know that those words can wound, deeply, when they’re contradicted by our actions. “I’m sorry” can even insult our intelligence if regret never leads to repentance.
I was reminded of this by an unlikely source, a television show — specifically, “The Bear,” FX’s hit drama about a Chicago restaurant and the small community of cooks and servers who are trying to transform a family-owned sandwich shop into a Michelin-starred culinary showcase.
It’s not really a binge, but we did binge both halves of the Billy Joel documentary. His music was the soundtrack to my adolescence and I learned a lot about his early life which explains a bit of his music and what makes him tick. If you’re a fan, it’s a must-see.
Yes, my husband and I have enjoyed all 3 seasons (but I see a 4th is starting?). We’ve been to Mexico all-inclusive, which perhaps is part of the appeal for us. It is heartwarming and funny.
There’s a Billy Joel documentary? I hadn’t heard about it. He’s my all time favorite musician. Where can I watch it?
Same. I’ve watched up through his first Grammy wins. It’s quite good and interesting, especially the impact of his first wife on his success. It’s on HBO Max.
Speaking of music documentaries, “The Greatest Night in Pop” is a fascinating doc about all the behind the scenes with We are the World.
