The first 3 episodes of season 5 of Only Murders in the Building dropped last night
I know what I’ll be watching tonight!
How did I not know this? Thanks!
The Lovely and Talented and I have been binging Billions, with mixed reviews. On the downside, it is reminiscent of Suits in that things that we know from experience are complicated and take time happen almost immediately to keep the plot moving, “Do the due diligence on the purchase of an $100M company, and I need it before lunch!”. Also the unbridaled sanctimony exhibited by Chuck Rhoades and Michael Prince gets old. On the plus side, the acting is good, the characters are interesting, and the plot twists keep the audience engaged.
I’m in the middle of Resurrection now, and in some ways I think it is better than the original. The producers went decidedly up-market, landing Uma Thurman and Peter Dinklage. Oddly, my favorite character is Det. Wallace, played by Kadia Saraf.
no spoilers but season finale will bring back her favorite song stayin’ alive
Same here. My husband can’t stand an obvious lack of communication among Marty’s family members that has led to many mistakes and more problems.
I, on the other hand, feel that we have invested a lot of time in this show, we should watch it to the end. My husband is dragging his feet. He only could watch an episode and needs a break before getting back to it.
I have one more episode to go. I may watch it tonight. Wendy sure has gotten mean!
Finished it last night, thank goodness.
I think I watched the first episode of the last season (that took a while to drop). I’m guessing I’m going to continue to dislike them all.
I do think the acting is excellent! Julia Garner is amazing. She grew up in New York City! I watched an interview she did on a late night show. She also played Anna in “Inventing Anna,” where she had to do a weird accent mixture of Russian / German / American. The host gave her lines that Ruth would say, but had her do them in Anna’s accent, and vice versa. It was pretty funny.
I actually didn’t watch that show due to the accent “controversy.” The acting in Ozark is incredible, it’s just draining.
Reminder - Please don’t post spoilers!
I rewatched the excellent Slow Horses in anticipation of the new season arriving in 2 weeks!
I am crazy about Slow Horses. I love the Slough House book series, too. Unfortunately Will Smith left the show after Season 5.
I already wonder how they have combined the next two books (Joe Country and Sough House) into one Season 6 (finished filming already).
Slow Horses grew on me. During season 1, there was lot of figuring out the characters and setup
The book series are very good, too. Very funny, esp. Roddy Ho’s internal thoughts. I laughed out loud several times.
I may need to start reading the books; I love the show
Slow Horses is one of a few shows that is as good as the books. However, the books give you more insights and background info. The first book, Slow Horses, is a bit boring, but the author, Mick Herron, has gotten better and better by each book. London Rule seems to be a lot of people’s favorite book. It is good to read this book series in order.
