This weekâs episode of The Morning Show was ridiculous ![]()
I have not enjoyed this season very much.
Totally agree. Itâs getting a little too âoutrageousâ for me/us.
We recently finished House of Guinness on Netflix. Enjoyed that very much and hope there is a season 2. Slight spoiler - Season 1 ends on a cliffhanger.
We are also watching IT: Welcome to Derry on HBOMax, the prequel to IT. H is the Stephen King fan. I am not. He really likes it. Iâm OK with it. Parts of it are very interesting to me. Parts are very weird and gross - I play with my phone for those parts. (Another reason not to have a dumb phone lol) I do like how the show ties into other Stephen King books. A younger Dick Hallorann (Shining) is a prominent character.
We are watching as well, Iâve been a huge Stephen king fan since age 10, so itâs like a warm hug for me. ![]()
Malice, new on Prime with David Duchovny, sounds as if it might be addictive. The Guardian described it as âWhite Lotusâ meets âThe Talented Mr. Ripley.â HmmmâŠ.
Has anyone watched â Your Friends and Neighborsâ? I have a free trial for Apple TV and it looks like it might be fun.
I have a friend who watched it and really liked it. I havenât seen it myself.
I finished Nobody Wants This season 2 last night. I loved how it ended with some questions answered and some not. Earlier in this thread, some expressed frustration with the âmiddleâ episodes of the season and I respect that. I used to feel like the middle episodes of Mad Men were annoying and then the last few episodes would make use of that material and really knock it out of the park. Some series are just like that.
I especially enjoy the relationship between Sasha and Morgan. Itâs like they are functional siblings (particularly because Morgan and Joanne have so much dysfunction!).
Me too! Sasha was a really interesting character.
I have been working my way through Season 1 of Grayâs Anatomy. At least I know Iâll have something to watch for many weeks! Itâs interesting to watch OR protocols vs what I believe they are today. Much less PPE then than now.
Watched the first 3 episodes of â Your Friends and Neighbors â. It was a bit more of a drama/ less of a comedy than I expected. Was a bit on the fence after the first episode, but I thought the second and third were better. I will stick with it.
It was a really good show (for its genre and for the period) right off the bat. It premiered in the Spring like they used to do for shows that they werenât sure about⊠And here we are 20+ years later. ![]()
Peacock: âAll Her Faultâ. Really good!
One of those that I thought was going off the rails after a few episodes but thenâŠ!
We are halfway through A Small Light. It is the story of Miep Geis and how she came to hide the Frank family. Very well done.
We also thought it was very well done Later that year when we visited the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, I asked the docent about it - she highly recommended the series. Wish more people (especially young people) could watch it, learn about the horrible times as well as the people who tried to help.
Where are my âdramaâ reality show binders? I watched Selling Sunset - honestly donât know that I can do another season of thatâŠ.
and Iâm watching Selling The OC which I think is BETTER in terms of the focus on real estate and (so far) not as women cat-scratching as SS!!!
I love a good reality real estate show. ![]()
This article lists 15 shows not to miss on Britbox, though they manage to miss Vera (older opinionated detective), Ludwig (zany comedy/mystery with cross word puzzle professional working for the police as his twin brother), Shetland (atmospheric), Blue Lights.. They DO list the masterpiece that is Happy Valley and definition-of-addictive Line of Duty. You can check to see if they list your favorite or catch something youâve missed or would like to watch.
Tried watching Hunting Wives. Sorry to say, it is not a âDesperate Housewives, but in Texasâ show - Iâm not sure what itâs trying to be: caricature/satire? Camp? An envelope-pushing mystery? Lots of very explicit sex (and in France Iâm used to sex being in most shows rated for 12 and older but this was different, perhaps for shock value?). I really disliked it and felt bad for the actors. Ugh.
Am now watching Murder Before Evensong. 80s Midlands, England. A âcannonâ (Deacon? Pastor?) wants to remodel the church to add a toilet, causing turmoil. A local historian/local lordâs cousin is murdered in the church. Itâs quite good.
Finally confirmed. Although weâll likely have to wait a year.
