Thanks. That must be the difference.
I get Acorn through Amazon Prime. Found Black Snow today. Both seasons are available with no extra charge. There is also a movie called Black Snow that is not free.
Yes. Just based on the fact that it apparently is better to subscribe through Amazon on this one I told my daughter to do that with her services rather than separately through Roku.
Last night we discussed which series jump back into. Wednesday? - eh, maybe. Resident Alien (Netflix) - Yes please! We are nearing the end of season 2, happy to know there is a season 3. Also looks like there is a season 4 (Prime, purchase⊠hopefully it will be free in the futuer).
Pls let us know if you like Black Snow, esp. Season 2.
Next week Best Practice launches on Fox. Itâs an American re-make of Doc Martin. Dr. Martin Best leaves Boston practice to move to a small coastal Maine town called Port Wenn (sound familiar?). There is an Aunt Joan, a Louisa, a Bert and Al Large, etc.
Martin Clunes is slated to appear in a future episode playing the main characterâs father.
Going to check it out, hoping itâs not terribleâloved the original series. Iâm hopeful, as the US vs. UK versions of Ghosts are different enough to make them both interesting.
It got a great review in the Watching blog, NY Times.
I saw that Annie Potts is on this show. This is like her 200th series (maybe only 100th)
It does look fun.
Speaking of revivals, a Scrubs reboot will begin in February.
Likely joining the likes of Frasier, Night Court, and Murphy Brown as reboots nobody asked for. ![]()
Though I think Best Practice might be different, as, believe it or not (!) there are millions of people who have no idea Doc Martin exists. Similar to Ghosts USA, which generated interest in Ghosts UK, Office USA/UK, etc. (Yeah, I know, Office existed before GhostsâŠ..)
And in both cases, UK existed before US
Ghosts USA is a very successful remake and one of my favorite shows.
High Potential is very commercially successful but smoothed out so many edges from HPI that it is only nominally similar. I donât like it but understand why people would like it.
And whatever that remake of Broadchurch was .. was hard to watch for people whoâd enjoyed the original.
So I get why people who loved the original Doc Martin would be both hopeful and wary. Choosing the Maine coast as a location is a good sign imho.
The Malcolm in the middle revival looks fun and makes sense as a 4-episode âwhat happened to themâ show.
Apologies if itâs been mentioned before, but we just started watching The Reluctant Traveler with Eugene Levy. Itâs a lot of fun to see him get out of his comfort zone and the scenery has been spectacular. I had no idea there were so many unique hotels in the world.
Watched them all, very sweet.
I am plowing my way through Grayâs Anatomy, almost done with season 6. Those early seasons have 25+ episodes each! All on Netflix.
To think they had started this hesitatingly, in the Spring, with only 13 episode, wondering if Shonda Rhimes (a Black woman) could herald such an ambitious show juggling a lot of actors (all unknown) and storylines ![]()
Seasons 1-4 seemed amazing. I still remember the creditsâ music (nobody knows where they might end up..)I admit I havenât watched in quite a while.
I finally finished âThe Sopranos.â Kind of glad - I wonât be as depressed all the time!
I was today years old when I learned that the song had a title other than âTheme from Greyâs Anatomy.â
