I watched the first episode of Run Away on Netflix and enjoyed it. The series is based on a mystery novel by Harlan Coben. I’m a fan of mysteries and read all of Harlan Coben’s novels. I’ve also watched all the Netflix limited series based on his books. One aspect of the Netflix adaptions that bothered me was that Coben’s books are all set in the US and all of the Netflix series have been set abroad (France, Poland, England, etc.) It took me some time to get comfortable with the different settings.

Is there a Pluribus thread?
It’s outstanding - the choreography, aesthetics, colors, the acting… The character of Carol, grumpy, bad tempered, easy to anger, always grouchy. Ideal antihero and perfect in a world where everyone is /pretends to be happy.
The reminders of the pandemic, the questions about IA, the way grief operates.
It reminds me of The Good Place in that it asks important questions while being entertaining, though this is definitely dark and not a comedy (though it’s often hilarious). I figured there might be people who want to discuss it beside me.
I tried to look but didn’t see one (I scrolled to September in Entertainment).
Our 22 year old son just recommended this.
I would be up for a thread. I was sad there weren’t more episodes in the first season!
Since I could not find one, I created one. We’ll see if there are replies.
My 24 year old son was watching Pluribus when he was here over Christmas. He raved about it. He was watching one episode while I was cooking nearby and I don’t think it’s my type of show. He and I have very different tastes in books, movies and tv shows.
I’m watching the latest season of Emily in Paris for the fashion, scenery, lifestyle. I’m certainly not watching it for the plot. I liked the American consulate guy. But realized I didn’t want him connecting with anyone else on the show, except maybe Luc and Julien, because they all have such annoying problems.
It initially reminded me of Better Call Saul, rather than The Good Place, particularly since I just finished watching the “Got Milk?” episode last night, with the Howard Hamlin from BCS cameo. Both shows were written and created by Vince Gilligan. Both star Rhea Seehorn. Both take place in Albuquerque, with regular Albuquerque backdrop. Both have some unique to Better Call Saul universe items, such as Wayfarer Airlines. Both have a unique slow build up style of telling a captivating story that includes that includes out of chronological order events and subtle easter eggs hinting at future important events. This style of telling a captivating story is a large part of what makes the shows exceptional.
The plots are obviously completely different, but they still have a similar feel. Based on plot alone, it reminds me more like some episodes of The X-Files, although I haven’t seen anything that’s quite like Plur1bus before.
Looking up the episodes of The X-Files I was thinking of, I see that Vince Gilligan wrote them as well. It seems Gilligan started his career with The X-Files before moving on to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and Plur1bus.
Thanks to my PBS Passport subscription, I finished Miss Scarlet last night. I have loved it all the way along, but I think this season has been my favorite. For those who will start watching on Sunday evening, you are in for a treat!
Agree. Really liked this season
The Pitt season 2 starts now.
I only got HBOMax at Thanksgiving, so I didn’t realize The Pitt was released one episode at a time. That was disappointing for me tonight.
Perhaps they should release one episode per hour!
Thank you, watched episode 1 season 1 last night, right up my alley. I can only get PBS on my iPad so this is another show to watch without H.
Any watch Traitors (US)?? I thought about starting a thread but don’t know if there is any interest. New season dropped 3 episodes last night. I haven’t watched any yet.
The NYT has a review for Riot Women, one of my favorite shows from last year with Pluribus. Jan 14 on BritBox.
(Sorry no gift link, it took me a bit of hoop jumping just to read it
