I have a much higher tolerance for graphic sex in novels than on the screen. And agree it was much too long!
My friend whose son is an ER doctor says that he finds The Pitt very realistic, and he has gotten HBO for his folks so they can watch it. In the meantime, he just accepted a new position where he can spend less time in the ER, as he is burning out after a few years. I find it amazing to watch what the doctors, nurses, and other staff do and how much they have to know.
H and I started the first season of The Pitt since we got HBO for the year. We are both really enjoying it although I do find some of it stressful to watch.

That’s what we hear!
As I said earlier, H worked in ERs for years and said it was very realistic. Though he makes the same point he used to make when ER was on– people write GSW, but they say “gun shot wound” because it’s faster. (He did residency at a Level One trauma center and later was an attending in its Pediatric ER.)
For any of you watching Season 6 of All Creatures Great & Small, you may find it interesting that the actress who plays Charlotte is Emma Thompson’s daughter. Once I knew (due to Masterpiece email), I was like “well, of course she is!”
“The Beast in Me”, Netflix is really good. Highly recommend.
Watched first 2 episodes of ‘How To Get To Heaven From Belfast’ on Netflix. Dark comedy. Made by creator of Derry Girls.
Imagine characters in their late 30s who slightly remind you of the Derry Girls gathering after the death of a childhood friend, but things seem very fishy. They HAVE to investigate, of course. Episodes end with great cliffhangers!
I started watching at Thanksgiving at my daughter’s (she has HBO Max) and liked it so much that I treated myself to HBO Max for $3/mo on the Black Friday special. I then finished season 1. I didn’t realize that for season 2 they’d release the episodes one per week. I don’t like that AT ALL, but yet can’t wait until the whole season is release to watch all of them. I find the episodes go so fast when just watching one.
I also like other stuff on HBO Max, so I think the $3 is worth it.
Big fan of Derry Girls. Watched the first episode. Loved it.
I’m really enjoying it! One of the women is the same one who played DCI Jessica James in Unforgotten (she replaced Nicola Walker’s DCI Cassie Stuart). She was so serious in Unforgotten but she’s hilarious in How To Get To Heaven From Belfast. Also Erin from Derry Girls has a part in the new show, too.
Definitely worth a watch if you liked Derry Girls’ humor.
I’m so excited to watch this, looks like a cross between derby girls and bad sisters, showed H a preview and he’s all in, right up our alley. He has no idea how I find all of these great shows (recently started Fisk and we love it).
Exactly! Perfect description!
We binge watched Lincoln Lawyer recently, and have been watching Shrinking as they come out. We started to watch Hijacked, but I’m just not into it.
Has anyone watched Messiah on Netflix? I saw the trailer last night and it looks like something I might like.
I love Shrinking but am a dedicated binge watcher. When it’s complete, I will binge.
Same, and I’m not re-upping Apple TV unit l then. Paused it when the price doubled
Incredibly late to the party, but I never saw Parks and Recreation in the past, and we are bingeing and loving it!
We need a dose of optimism and idealism so started watching The West Wing again!
