Because of Duvall’s death, we watched the four-part miniseries Lonesome Dove. I’d never seen it as I was working nights back in ‘89. Highly recommend. Tommy Lee Jones at his best.
I watched it back in the day. Good to know it stand the test of time - I will put it on my list thanks!
I love that series, and I’m not a western type person. It is a classic for sure
You’d never seen it!?!? Oh, my. Glad you’re watching it now. We’ve watched it several times.
Just finished all five seasons of Poldark. The last season was little disjointed but the ending did not disappoint. Excellent series. Thanks for the recommendation @conmama

. would like to see violet or eloise featured next season.
Thought Eloise was going to remain single (despite the books - after all, they do change quite a few things) - this would have been allowed in an upper class Regency family with many children. I suppose that they want to have as many seasons as they can.
I really, really liked “Paradise” season 1 but I’m having a heck of a time following season 2 (on episode 2 now). What the heck? I presume it’s going to be “pulled together” eventually. Anyone else?
My pleasure! I also agree the last season was not near as good as the others, but still a satisfying ending. I’ve just started Sullivan’s Crossing. First episode wasn’t bad. Is it a good series anyone?
I’m also irritated as I started rewatching Schitt’s Creek and Netflix started charging a couple weeks ago after Catherine O’haras death. I guess I’ll wait now.
- The Lincoln Lawyer (series based on Michael Connelly’s books) is back for Season 4. I’ve watched the first 2 episodes of Season 4 and have enjoyed them. Michael Connelly is an executive producer and I’ve read that he’s involved/works with the writers. I just finished Connelly’s newest Lincoln Lawyer novel (The Proving Ground)–been on a Lincoln Lawyer binge!!
I just started watching Grantchester for the first time. I’m at the point where the original vicar moves to America and a new vicar comes in. Should I continue watching the new vicar episodes?
I needed a light show to watch w/o my husband. Started Sullivan’s Crossing. It seemed super familiar. Main character is a red head, runner, running away from medical situation…the whole look/feel seemed like Virgin River - I called it Virgin River East Coast. Then I saw it is from the same book author as Virgin River. lol
I like every season of Lincoln Lawyer. I, particularly, like the latest season as it was quite gripping as I was not sure how Mickey could get out of the mess. It was a really good season.
Definitely. The series goes through several vicars, each interesting in his own way.
Yes. Worth it! I got tired after a while but it’s still a very good show.
And remember the first angelic vicar will become evil Tommy Lee Royce in Happy Valley and then Harold of Hastings fame in King&Conqueror ![]()
After I watched Happy Valley a few months ago, every show had Tommy Lee Royce in it. Well, the actor James Norton anyway. lol!
I watched House of Guinness soon after Happy Valley. And he was in something else I saw. Grantchester started popping as a “we think you would like” on my screen.
Just finished ‘How to get to heaven from Belfast. Dark humor would be a good description of the series. Very strange. I liked it. Had to read a write up to explain a few parts of it I did not get from the episodes that I should have.
I started watching episode 2 and can’t get past her collegiate-looking 22 year old face and the fact she’s a highly respected neurosurgeon. It’s off-putting to me and I’ve already stopped watching it.
I kept telling my husband that the writers better have something planned or it was going to be a boring season 5 with Mickey in jail.
Has anyone watched “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt?” It’s on Netflix and gets good reviews, but I’d never heard of it until today - someone mentioned it on Reddit.
