Binge watched tv shows (Part 2)

I watched it years ago, but don’t remember a lot of it.

Shetland is great. Sometimes though we have trouble keeping track of various characters and threads. I think at one point my husband was taking written notes.

I haven’t seen it (we don’t have that service), but my son raved about it. Looks interesting.

Same here! I watched the first episode in Season 1, said nope, too gory for me and gave up. But a friend encouraged me to try again - I did - and was similarly sucked in. Have to get HBO again now so I can watch Season 2.

Every year I have to the whiteboard out of storage when the new season premieres.

I watched the first episode of Marshalls and agree with your assessment. Just a formulaic already done show. Not interesting enough for me to keep watching. I read although Taylor Sheridan produced it, he didn’t do the writing like Yellowstone and its prequels. It shows.

I saw that Virgin River season is being released. I watched the first 5 or so seasons, but find it hard to follow without going back and rewatching ALL the seasons. Why do all the characters look the same?

I did like it, but not sure I’m willing to go back and ‘catch up.’

I watched them all when they came out and I think the plots were simple enough to not need to go back. I’m excited to have another show to watch without H (added to all medical dramas including the Pitt, call the midlife, love is blind :joy:…)

The prequel which centers on Sr. Monica Joan as she wrestles with her faith during WW2.

What we sometimes do is watch the last episode of prior season. However for Virgin River not sure I’ll bother.

I do this too. Also a lot of streaming series will do a (sometimes optional, you can skip through) last season recap at the beginning. Something as light as Virgin River would probably not require a rewatch at all from me.

Personally, I would just as soon not be reminded of earlier seasons of Virgin River. I can’t remember if I was previously caught up or not.

Someone needs to make that show!

Virgin River drives me crazy…but I keep watching it:laughing:

Everyone has jobs and businesses but nobody ever works. Virgin River must be the longest city in the world - every business is on the river (or some other amazing backdrop) but there is nothing else around it. And I am sorry, but if someone told me I was the mother of her unborn twins (while my girlfriend was also pregnant), but I then found out I wasn’t, I would not still be friends with her…lol

We watched it years ago and loved it.

I like Virgin River. The theme music that plays in the beginning is only seven notes long. If I lived there there are several characters whom I would grab by the lapels and shake while saying, “Pull yourself together!” but it’s pleasant spending time there.

I watched the first 3 episodes of The Madison (Paramount+). Episodes 4-6 will come out weekly. This is a much better product than Marshalls. While created and written by Taylor Sheridan, it’s not connected to Yellowstone. But still good. And the cinematography is amazing.

Thanks to those who recommended Death by Lightning. Really enjoyed it and as a bonus I learned something!

I watched the first episode of Madison and I agree it’s much better than Marshalls. Taylor definitely does have a signature theme song.

I’ll keep watching as I enjoyed it, but I have to say I think Michelle P. came off as a real cold B, to me, even at the beginning. Not the type of personality I’m attracted to in friends IRL.

Shrinking is such a good show. That is all. Love the actors, love the scenarios, all the feels.
