I gave up many years ago. My daughter did it in the last 10 years or so. Really, she started watching in college and didn’t finish until about 2 years ago.
I watched the 2 episodes which dropped and really enjoyed. Very much the essence of Yellowstone
Am on Episode 5 of Rooster and REALLY enjoying it
- good comedy and the college setting feels relatively authentic to me. (I liked The Chair but the college students were very poorly drawn, for instance - here, there’s a sense of sympathy for most characters.)
I felt really bad when the Tolstoy first edition was burned, less so after getting to know its owner
. He’s not a villain per se but really deserves his comeuppance.
I just finished watching Rooster and enjoyed it. I loved that there were so many laugh-out-loud lines. Ted Dunster, who plays Archie, was also the actor who portrayed the arrogant soccer player Jamie in Ted Lasso. I didn’t realize this until my D said something about him. He’s an excellent actor.
I thought he looked familiar, but couldn’t place him!
I watched Big Mistakes and the Malcolm in the Middle revival. I enjoyed them both. Time to find another show!
It took me a while to place him and had to look him up! ![]()

I paused for a couple of years after COVID (hated being reminded of that situation), but my daughter who had picked it up in HS was so impressed that I had been watching from the beginning, so I picked it up again. I’m still at the start of season 22, we will see if I continue he with season 23 in the fall.

college life with hockey setting
After finally finishing Grey’s Anatomy, all seasons, I am watching Hacks, season 5. Great stuff.
Agreed
Season (and series) finale next Thursday
My H had not seen Hacks the first time I watched it, so we have been doing seasons 1–4, which I’m really glad we did as I’d forgotten a lot. Plus the dialogue is so entertaining! We’re starting season 5 tonight. Love this show!
We enjoyed Hacks season 1 and 2, but quit mid-way through 3 or 4. Does it get better in season 5?
A friend suggested Jim Jarmusch’s Mother Father Sister Brother–an anthology of three short films. Appears to be on Prime.
Yes. Season 5 beings everything full circle. Well worth watching. Many episodes are full of hilarious one liners and all sorts of humor.
I just started watching R.J. Decker, mainly because the main character is the actor who was the partner of Meredith Grey the last few seasons. Also to stretch out the final season of Hacks. Anyway, for what it is (P.I. procedural in which the P.I., the aforementioned Decker, is a former news photographer/now excon), it shows some promise in Season 1, Episode 1.
Probably late to the party but I just read The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society and enjoyed it (D told me it is a movie as well). Written as a series of letters (similar to The Correspondent in that regard) I found it to be a nice mix of personal/love stories and a bit of history about the British Channel Islands under German occupation in WWII. It was not ground breaking, but I found it to be an easy and interesting read.
ETA: OOPS, Meant to put this in the books thread.
I loved the movie, too!
Coincidentally just 2 minutes ago I ordered that book for a friend who is retiring, mentioned she likes book involving some history. (Also bought “West with Giraffes”.). The book and the movie are different, both excellent.
I gave up on Grey’s Anatomy years ago so didn’t know who was Meredith’s boyfriend. But I looked up RJ Decker to see where it was airing and that actor is Ben Covington from Felicity!! I loved Felicity back in the day and am a huge fan of Keri Russell,
