Have you watched the Diplomat? Loved it and waiting for the new season.

Is R.J. Decker based on the character from Carl Hiassen’s book Double Whammy?

Yes

I just discovered an old series on Hulu that’s really great. Mr. Inbetween is an Australian show (3 seasons) from 2018-2021 that’s described as a “dark comedy/crime drama”. It’s about a hitman who lives a pretty normal “other” life with his 8 year old daughter who he shares with his ex. He’s a caretaker to his brother who has ALS. The show is funny, violent and poignant. The writing and acting is some of the best I’ve seen. Lots of Aussie slang, too.

Warning: it’s very violent. It’s not for those who dislike that kind of show. If you can get past that, you’re in for a treat.

Well, I made it through The Sopranos, so maybe I should give it a try. I’ll just have to put up with DH coming in and saying, “What are you watching??” :joy:

Oh that a hard no for me. I told DH years ago that what I was watching was my own business. Not a material for discussion Mostly I watch on my iPad. I HATE watching shows with other people. Hate it. I want to stop and start and binge or not exactly how I want.

I love Scott Speedman in Grey’s, so that was what prompted me to watch RJ Decker. It’s an enjoyable watch..I watched it as it aired, so I’m done with the season.

I mentioned above that he is in the second season of Running Point, and just read he will be in the third season as well.

I hope they don’t write him out of Grey’s.

I also noticed him in Running Point. It will be interesting to see what they do with him for season 3. I didn’t want to see Isla attracted to him until the final S2 episode curve ball and now I’m willing to engage with how that plays out.

H and I finished Love Story last night. We started it weeks ago, but forgot about it when we were watching Running Point and other shows. Love Story was ok, but the last episode was way too drawn out.

Sheesh, actress who plays Meredith must be old enough by now to be his mother! LOL.
I, too, stopped watching GA years ago.

Ben, like Felicity, has his teen years well in his rearview mirror. These days, Keri Russell, Scott Speedman, and Ellen Pompeo are all proud holders of an AARP card.

Scott is 50 and Ellen is 56, so not too big of an age difference

I finally finished Season 21 of GA. (I’ve stretched it over a long period. Sure seems like the latest class of interns has been there a long time.) Just in time for Season 22, available to Netflix on June 6th

It’s on Hulu now.

I think Gray’s Anatomy is like General Hospital…many watched for a few seasons and then moved on.

I think so too. I imagine their production costs are quite high. They probably count on the fact there could be revenue from streaming too.

I usually have something to watch when I turn on tv, but I didn’t this week. I was mindlessly scrolling and decided to watch Law and Order SVU. I hadn’t watched it in years, but figured I’d start watching the current Season 27 from the beginning. I’m 9 episodes in (there are 21 episodes) and I’m enjoying it. Mariska Hargitay and Ice T are still great actors. Apparently, there’s going to be a Season 28.

Yes indeed. The show will likely last as long as Mariska wants to go on; when she’s done, so is the show. She’s hinted recently that she’s aiming for 30.

As an FYI, SVU (and all Dick Wolf’s shows) had major budget cuts this season, where many main characters were not in all episodes. This was particularly evident in SVU, where Ice-T is only in 7 of the season’s 21 episodes. This was exacerbated by the salary needed for the rehiring Kelli Giddish, who had been fired after season 24.

Was she fired or let go? By which I mean, did she do something egregious?
