I noted that on my Netflix screen last night and plan to watch soon!

We started watching that last week and have been enjoying it so much! We finished season 2, episode 2 yesterday.

I’m six episodes in–probably finish tonight. I loved the Jersey Shore setting for 3 and 4–feels so much like the houses I’ve rented in the past, though those were Cape May, not Point Pleasant. Enjoying the show, even though at the same time, I think the characters are a little bit more ridiculous than in season 1. Tina Fey is great!

We have rented quite a few oceanfront homes in point pleasant, my oldest lives in ocean grove, and spent a lot of time at my grandparents home in Avon growing up, 3 blocks from the beach. Very nostalgic.

It is somewhat unrealistic (but probably season 1 too) but I enjoyed it - a light diversion from my usual, serious, British cop shows. lol

I guess there is enough real life stuff to accept the non-real life stuff. And I love that Alan Alda is Tina Fey’s father on the show!

I thought Alan Alda was another character’s dad (( I could be mistaken), loved seeing him.

I like the show because it has a lot of humor and it’s light watching. I don’t mind watching things that are unrealistic-heck real life is boring. I want to escape!

He’s not; he plays the father of Anne (Kerri Kenney-Silver).

The boardwalk and Jenkinson’s scenes were filmed in Point Pleasant. Growing up that was our family’s go to place for summer Saturday afternoon/evening trips down the shore (about an hour and a half drive). My Mom loved skee ball and I have such fond memories of those 1970s summer days playing games and collecting tickets to get prizes (retrospectively crappy expensive prizes, but treasures then). I live far from there now. But the exterior house scenes were filmed in Ocean Grove. I thought maybe Cape May but the article says OG.

This article discusses all the locations. Includes some sort of spoilers.

Ooh thanks! Also they used the Wild Wildwood Nights song, though it’s not set anywhere near Wildwood.

A couple of British shows we’re enjoying: The Other Bennett Daughter, on Britbox, focuses on the middle daughter from Pride and Prejudice, in fact the first 2 eps tell the P&P story but from her perspective. An ugly duckling story.

On Prime, season 5 of Clarkson’s Farm has dropped (most of it). Let me just say that if you are nerdy/sciency/techie, episode 3 will make your head explode!!

Add me to the just finished The Four Seasons club. I loved this season. I love Italy.

I tried season one but I just don’t like shows where everyone is so unhappy in the face of just regular life. If season two is the same I will have to pass.

This one feels more light-hearted, IMO.

I had no plan to watch The Four Seasons but since it sounds much was filmed so locally - I live in Manasquan - I’ll watch to see the scenery.

I used to watch The Jersey Shore on MTV to see where I should or shouldn’t go. Once when Vinny went to a doctor, husband knew him.

for jon hamm’s show, it may be recency bias but actually enjoyed s2 over s1.

I just finished the first season of The Four Seasons. I had watched one episode when it first came out and I was definitely not hooked. But after the discussion here, I went back and loved it. Looking forward to the new season.

watch the two seasons of The Four Seasons. IDK on the fence about it. It did have great character development.

I agree. Not a waste of time. Yet somehow not great…I’ve never really been that fond of Tina Fey.:woman_shrugging:
