I thought of the campus like Stars Hollow of The Gilmore Girls. Everything and everyone was a little over the top but normal within their world.
I watched six (out of eight episodes) of Harlan Coben’s “I Will Find You” on Netflix. I decided to save the last two episodes for tonight. I thought it was great. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat. I’m a fan of Coben’s and have read all of his books and watched several of the Netflix series based on his books (some were fine–others I hated). Anyway, if you like crime thrillers, you’ll enjoy this one.
I just finished Big Mistakes and am such a tv chicken that the suspense was almost too much for me! But both Dan Levy is a fav and the actress (I’m bad on names) who plays the mother are great watches!
Reminder: all episodes of the fifth and final season of The Bear drop tonight on Hulu
Just finished The Borough, I liked it more that I thought I would and I am bummed there is no season 2.
Just starting new DCC season. Don’t judge!
I binged it in 2 nights. This one felt a little phoned in.
Oh gosh I didn’t realize this was due to drop already .
I had to google what DCC you are referring to. My familiarity is DCC = Dungeon Crawler Carl, which is the most popular book series on Audible. I’m happy to learn that the book series was just greenlit for a show on Peacock. I’m skeptical about how well the books will work as a live action series, but I’ll definitely give the show a try when released.
I have one episode left.
Just watched a few episodes of the new season of FROM. I dislike paying for more streaming services (I have too many as it is) so we were waiting for the entire season to drop to binge, which is very soon so decided to sign up and start. It’s $.99 a month for the first 2 months, I guess we could’ve started sooner.
Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders, yay! I watched the first episode just now. I don’t know why I like that show so much, but I do. Maybe because I grew up with some girls like that, ha. Texas is something. ![]()
OK, finished the season. I have LOTS of thoughts. Let me keep thinking how to do share cogently.
“Shetland”
“The Last Kingdom”
I did the same. I initial purchased MGM+ for $0.99 for the new season of From. However, I found a few other shows/movies I enjoy on the small streaming service as well, such as Goliath. It’s interesting to contrast Harold Perrineau’s (Michael from Lost) dramatically different role on From and Goliath.
There isn’t enough content on MGM+ for me to maintain a streaming subscription, but it’s certainly worth the $0.99 to be able to catch up on the few shows I like and see a few new to me, quality movies.
Thanks for the info, I will browse!
Just started watching I Will Find You last night. We like it more than some of the other Harlan Coben shows that have been done.
OK, one of the podcasts I listen to tackled the DCC series and hit on a lot of what I was thinking so I’ll post that instead of trying to write down all my thoughts.
This got surprisingly academic, but it is an interesting way to broach the ideas. For instance, they hit on the social media aspect, but one thing I noted that they didn’t is that DCC reached out to Faith, who already had a social media following, not the other way around. Then the show tries to make SM the bogeyman. And they criticize Faith for not going through their people for all her interviews. They come across as really controlling. I can appreciate the want/need to protect the DCC image, but they are learning that they can’t control everything.
Also, I can’t remember which DCC they criticized for having swimsuit thirst-trap pics on her Instagram, but that irritated me because for all those years they put out an annual DCC swimsuit thirst-trap calendar! Don’t act all holier than thou, Kelli and Judy – this is about control and who gets to profit off these bodies.
Also, how horrible of the producers, I assume, to make these women read the awful things written about them for the camera, especially when some say that they specifically don’t read those things on SM.
Anyway, when some of the cheerleaders talked about how can they make picks without having seen them do the split maneuver at the end of Thunderstruck – agreed. One, I hope they are trying to keep from injuring these women. But two, I think they want who they want and don’t want evidence to the contrary. I don’t want to be an online critic like they complain about, but the quality of the dancers in terms of precision has dropped in recent years, and I think that’s because this show is making them make picks based on personalities rather than the cohesion of the dancers.
Lastly, I have to laugh about wondering whether people were on the squad/show for the “right reasons.” Is anyone on the show for the “right reasons”? What are those? I’m glad these women are finally making decent money and are able to profit off the enterprise.
Like I said … I have lots of thoughts! lol
Oh, and I thought it was so rich for the “hair expert” to put that horrible color on Savannah and then Kelli criticizes it and mentions it in the exit interview. Uh, you made her do it! They did poor Savannah dirty.
All this said, I imagine it’s difficult for K&J to want to pick women mostly on aesthetics/quotas but not being able to say that on camera because of how it sounds.
I just finished the 5th and final season of The Bear. I had a hard time getting into it the first several episodes, but the last few were excellent.
This is an oldie, but I recently finished watching 30 Rock. Really enjoyed it! I’m not a huge fan of Jack McBrayer or Tracy Morgan, but they were great in this show.
I also watched season 2 of The Four Seasons. I liked it a lot, but thought the relationship and characters of Kate and Jack were harder to watch this season.
Agreed. Although I liked most of the early episodes, the last 2 were fantastic
