Binge watched tv shows (Part 2)

That’s only if you want instant access to all the episodes so you can binge. With your regular subscription you just have to wait for the weekly episode drop. It’s definitely deceptive marketing.

That was what my spouse thought it might be. Ok, I will be patient… lol

Thanks!

Miss ‘Grantchester’? Here Are More Crime-Solving Clergy
The longtime PBS mystery series just ended. But TV has a surprising number of other theological murder investigators to fill the void.

Oh Ted Lasso, I’ve missed you. And you too Rebecca, Keeley, and Higgins

I finished binge watching Lincoln lawyer. When does season five drop?

The specific date has not been announced. My guess is Spring 2027. Filming wrapped last month.

5 star weekend renewed

I thoroughly enjoyed the first episode of Ted Lasso Season 4. I know it had to do work to get the ball rolling to get him back to London, and I think it accomplished what it needed to. Just happy to have that gang back in my life again!

Was it just dh and I … we thought that they were speaking so quickly at the beginning of the episode.

I didn’t notice. But we always have captions on (H is partially deaf), so I listen and read simultaneously.

Filmed in my hometown (jason sudekis is from KC ‘burbs) and I was impressed how they got in all the things…Jazz Museum, Negro League Museum, Liberty Memorial/National WWI museum, Union Station, Town Topic, Power and Light Building, Kauffman Center, the Plaza, Gates and Sons BBQ, many iconic buildings/businesses and MOST importantly, the KC Current game/stadium (world’s first stadium built expressly for a womens’ professional sports team).

Also loved all the references to “No, you’re in Missouri, not Kansas”. The KC everyone knows-Chiefs, Royals, BBQ, jazz, City of Fountains, Walt Disney, Hallmark, etc is in MO, but tourists are often shocked to find out they are not in KS.

That the episode aired at the same time two very unpopular establishment initiatives were getting an all time epic shellacking (‘No’ 80+% to <20%) was the icing on the cake.

I enjoyed the first Ted Lasso episode of the new season from the Welcome Back with him interacting with some of my other favorite shows (Severance, Slow Horses) to the end. Clearly Jason Sedakis’ love letter to Kansas City, where I’ve never been but it looked great. Several times I Googled whether places shown were real and they were. I liked how they set up the characters’ current lives and his return to England. Hoping the rest of the season is as good. I wasn’t too fond of Season 3

Don’t know if it has been talked about here, but Slow Horses on AppleTV is very good. We just found it this Summer. Multiple seasons to watch.

I was a little disappointed in the first episode. Too many set pieces between the supermarket, kid’s soccer coach, Negro Baseball League museum, Ted’s mom. But I am definitely looking forward to the rest.

H and I watched the first episode of the new season of Ted Lasso last night. We both loved it as it felt so comforting to have Ted back!

The series was based on one of Elin Hilderbrand’s books–all her other novels set in Nantucket have different story lines. It will be interesting to see how the writers move the Five Star story forward. I noticed that Hilderbrand is involved in the production and I wonder if she’ll be involved in the writing as the series moves forward. I enjoyed the series and liked that it didn’t stray far from the plot of the book.

I’m loving The Hawk with Will Ferrell, Molly Shannon, Fortune Feimster, etc.

The most anticipated TV show for me this year is Slow Horses Season 6 coming next month (Sept).

If you like reading, the Slough House series by Mick Herron is really good. Both the show and the books are equally good.

Season 6 of Slow Horses premieres Wed Sep 16 Apple TV+ for those who are counting down

Yup, counting down for sure. I’m curious about Season 6 for two main reasons:

  • how they combined 2 books (Joe’s Country and Slough House) into one season.
  • how well its quality will be without Will Smith as the show runner
