H and I just started watching it, still in Season One. Very good so far.
I like all 5 seasons. Each of the first five seasons was adapted from each book in the series. This upcoming season 6 was from two books. Honestly, I am disappointed because each book has its own story. They should not have been combined.
Season 7 was already filmed. Hopefully, Apple will green light Season 8.
In partnership with Rutgers University… But no showing in New Brunswick!!!
Still, worth going if you’re into horror/comedy, it must be terrific on a big screen ![]()
Ok, I just finished Grantchester. A great relief that they all lived happily ever after,
Enjoying Sterling Point. Some of the same vibe and gorgeous Canadian scenery as the terrific My Old Ass movie. It’s by the same writer/ director.
I watched The Madness on Netflix (limited series) staring Coleman Domingo. It’s about a media pundit (CNN) who is framed for murder and fights to clear his name. In the course of this Domingo uncovers a variety of conspiracy theorists and crazy rich guys. Domingo carries the series and he’s a great actor. The plot is lacking authenticity IMO but I did keep watching.
I noticed that too. I enjoyed it of course, but it felt frantic. They needed to slow it all down.
stars nepo babies of gere and crawford
Watched the first 3 episodes of the new season of Reacher on Prime. Enjoying it so far.
I am also enjoying it, especially because I went to the Reacher/Neagley panel at Comic-Con last month. The cast were a lot of fun, and Alan Ritchson wildly charming and charismatic. It was fun watching his restrained performance as Reacher after seeing him in person.
H and I watched the first season of Silo over the past week. It’s definitely interesting.
ITA–I watched all three episodes of the new season as well and enjoyed them. At first, I thought Ritchson was the wrong actor to play Reacher, but after watching more, I’ve changed my mind.
Per the books, the physicality of the character is integral to his personality. I think Alan Ritchson really embodies that (pun intended) as opposed to, say, Tom Cruise.
As I think about it, though, I don’t recall him taking off his shirt this season . I feel like it was a requirement in each episode prior seasons
.
Oh . . . . Tom Cruise as Reacher was a joke!!
Interesting picture of Alan Ritchson. Reacher doesn’t have tattoos on his arms.
Edited to add: Ritchson’s tattoos are covered by make-up during the filming of Reacher.
In the novels, Reacher has no tattoos, just a collection of scars. He’s also 6’5." Alan Ritchson is about 6’3," so close enough. Tom Cruise, of course, is about 4’10" ![]()
Alan Ritchson openly discusses being neurodivergent - there are online discussions about whether the character Reacher also might be. Ritchson, unlike Reacher, is very open and talkative. He likes answering questions! His cast mates talk about how friendly and helpful he is.
Spoke too soon; just finished the rest of episode 3.
We have started watching Homeland. It’s an old show, but I don’t think we had whatever platform it was on. Now it’s on Netflix, so we decided to try it. So far we’ve liked it.
I’ve been watching “The Good Doctor.” I actually like it!
