Now that I have Peacock as part of our cable/internet company, I can finally watch Poker Face. - been waiting three years. One episode in and I like it a lot. And quite the cast! I’ve watched Andor several times so laughed when Bail Organa (Benjamin Bratt) showed up as a baddie.
I started Slow Horses last night. Why did I not watch this earlier? Two episodes of season 1 and I am hooked!
I don’t know. We’ve only been talking about it for 4 years. ![]()
It was said that in England, if Slow Horses was on BBC, it would be as popular as Line of Duty.
Here in the US, had it been on NetFlix, a lot more people would watch it.
Glad you like it from the beginning. I have a buddy who gave up after the first 2 episodes saying it was slow. I convinced her to continue on until the kidnapping occurred. She did and was hooked. She binge-watched the 5 seasons in 2 weeks!!
I loved it! She’s one of my favorite actors.
Just started. Thanks for the rec!

quirky. sly humor. ideal companion piece to margo’s got money troubles
We watched the two seasons of The Gentlemen. Quite a good show. Definitely some violence.
Last night we watched another episode of The Gentlemen, season 2. There was a violent crime involved, but at least most details were off camera.
Then we watched our new show, Doc (Netflix). Medical drama, where doctor has amnesia of last 8 years… but she still has good diagnostic skill.
I like it that the hospital and family drama progresses (trying to avoid spoilers) through the season, but the medical stories are contained within one episode. Like Grey’s Anatomy that way, except not so fixated on hospital romances and natural disasters. Also similar in ways to House. Lovely that I don’t have to keep up with a lot of characters and plotlines.
I love medical dramas, but dislike all of the relationship garbage, I assumed this one was more of the same (the Pitt has ruined several shows for me). I’ll check it out, H is away for a couple of weeks and he does not enjoy medical dramas at all.
I’ve mentioned this upthread. It’s a surprisingly enjoyable show seeing how it’s on network TV - you may be watching on Netflix, but it’s broadcast on FOX. But that’s probably because it’s originally an Italian series. Indeed most of the first season was directly copied
The first episode of Doc does have a flashback of romantic encounter. But for the most part, it’s just hospital stories (medical and a bit of organization politics) and a family drama that unfolds over time.
I enjoy Doc. It’s loosely based on a true story.
Add me to the group of Doc fans.
Just watched the first episode!
As often happens, I found some parts of the first episode hard to follow. Now we know the main characters and are used to the slightly different/hazy way they show the flashbacks… sometimes showing years ago, sometimes more recent.
The Airbnb where dh and I are staying this week has HBO Mx so we are bingeing the second season of The Pitt.
