BJP or Congress? Either or neither?

[RJD in trouble in Bihar](Ray of hope for Cong, RJD sees bleak future | India News - Times of India)!! How bloody cool is that

oh no it wont.Congress-LJP and the commies will give it outside support

ha! it’s nice to know they’re getting a setback at least.

thts awesome! light @ the end of the tunnel - but i agree with akash, congress will come to lalu’s rescue…

Trust me guys, I live here! The RJD isn’t gonna leave atleast in Laloo’s lifetime, if not longer.

No, apparently they had some disagreements and the congress is “going it alone” this elections…

merc - u from bihar?? i dont know why i always thinkin every1 except me is from delhi…

will go it alone for now,but If Laloo or Congress dont get absolute majority, theyll support each other.

Haha yeah adides. Pure home grown Bihari, living in Patna.

 This is why we need a major overhaul of our constitution, and switch to a bi-party system rather than a multi party one.

interesting. 1 of my very good friends is from patna as well. few years senior to us, but lives in nyc now

Ok Common Sense Party

manifesto - will take suggestions, notthought of one yet

I suggest we start from Delhi and then expand. WE can have bases in Calcutta and Mumbai too! Then we spread slowly and steadily .

but what are your basic ideas for the Common Sense party?
I probably wouldn’t fit in very well in such a party-I have no common sense whatever and I don’t understand Economics :p

ha whats economics:D? My plan to reach for the youth and spread propanganda through thm. Seeing that 75 % of the populations is goign to be under 25 in 10 years ( number is an estimate, i may be wrong), I think that would be a good idea. First of all will be a drive against the present educational system and then heavy investment in technology .
Seeing floods in eastern India and then looking at the majority of india suffering from drought and water problems in general saddens me. Furthermore on my goals is to invest in technology which would covert salty ocean water to regular tap water in coastal areas. Ya sounds ambitious but its possible!

Hey Such 1600 shows a lot of common sense:)

No one ever accused the SAT of showing any signs of common sense…

as far as ur population #s go. Currently 35% of the population is younger than 17 years old. So in 10 years, I would imagine, about 50% being younger than 50% (since new kids will enter the population). As far as manifesto goes. I would recommend debating on the following requirements for the party-

non religious bias

3-4 year college a pre-requisite

willingness to donate 40% to after tax earnings to charitable cause approved by the party

awards in public speaking, debating, leadership, writing or drama

quotas for 50% science majors and 50% commerce majors (to balance technical and management skills)

have the ability to prepare and submit annual accounts listing all expenses

have the ability to work long hours without the help of assistants or chamchaas

Excellent!

I disagree. While the person has to be educated, mandating a college degree is not plausible IMO.

I don’t believe in blind charity. I’ll explain later.

Absolutely no quotas. All quotas must be abolished (of any kind whatsoever).

These two I agree with totally.

college education - i do believe that a person needs to have education to lead a country (case study: mms vs. laloo)

charity - i do believe that if you want to join politics, you should do it to ‘serve the people’ and not make money. With our country’s oversized paychecks to the politicians (over and above payin for their living expenses), i stay firm in proposing tht 40% of after tax money should be donated to 1 of the 100s of charity approved by our party (so tht no1 can open a charity where they themselves are the beneficiary…)

science/commerce - if our party were to lead this nation, we need a balance in leadership with understanding about sciences and commerces. This is not a firm #, but my point is to have diversified knowledge base to lead this nation

quotas hmm have them if you must but make it 40 science 40 commerce 20 humanities/social sciences

sold!

20-40% science
20-40% commerce
20-40% humanities
0-15% without primary schooling certificate

i say anyone who’s driven enough, has that spark

u’d be surprised how many ppl are more concerned bout their personal bank balances than welfare of the country (which is makes this world a developing place. Greed is good!)

if all driven ppl had a spark - gujarat with maybe one of the higher per capita income in india would have more representation in the defense forces and politics of india…
