a. deficiet and sucides cant be changed overnight. any prudent govt. will resolve to continue viable projects as much as they, while improving situations for better. and tht is wht the existing govt have done. the major differences between the UPA and NDA is how to raise and spend money on marginal basis.

b. no i wont support AIML because of my overlaying principles to follow secularism. I dont support religious parties, organization, charities or places to worship.

Well,Im sorry to say,I have yet to see any work doen in this regard. Also one more point, economists and reports showed that the Trickle down effect ,which was effected by the NDA,actually worked.

Yes,u wudnt support AIML.But then, why dont I see u takling up a protest or speaking out aginst it as well as the “secular” UPA?

One more point, why did the murder of 34 hindus by christians in Kerala last year go relatively unreported? Were they not communalistic killings and doesnt this really expose the secular credentials of our media and the Kerala Congress Govt?

will answer ur second question first.
b. I dont protest against UPA coz they did not kill my friends under the name of religion. it is a personal decision formed out of personal experiences. as discussed before, my world is shaped by the experiences around me and in my experiences bjp, rss, vhp were directly responsible for killing of over 8 ppl tht i was close to.
similarly, if AIML or UPA were to hurt ne1 of my loved ones, god swear, they will face the same protest and challenges from me as bjp did in guj
i am an inherent selfish guy more concerned about my loved ones than nebody else and my war against bjp, rss, etc. is personal. UPA has not corssed that line where i can go against them on personal level.

a. the trickle down impact does work, but as you might also have read tht the trickle down impact works in two ways a. widespread job creation and b. migration. These two ways arent most efficient in india coz of diff. job profiles in the rural-urban india. also currently we dont have the infrastructure to support large scale migration
in absence of these two factors, widenin gap between the rich-poor is an obvious result

about killings in kerala - i feel bad tht it went unreported. to be honest, i am not knowledgable enough to speak on tht particular incident (not tht i claim to be knowledgable bout nething else…)

I’ve been following this thread largely as a spectator. Adides, don’t weaken your credibility and your arguments by saying something like the above.

merc - not tryin to weaken my arguments. But i dont want to argue on something tht i really dont have much knowledge about. i will debate on nda vs. upa or bjp vs. congress or their economic policies etc. all day long, but the incident in kerala is just something tht i have not followed (coz of the precise reasons tht akash is eludin to) … but thx for implyin tht i HAVE creibility and okie arguments ;)

I meant the clause in parentheses (implying that you dont know a lot in general). With isolated incidents though, it’s good to gracefully acknowledge your ignorance. :)

New Delhi, March 18: In a victory of sorts for various NRI groups and Secular Indian groups, United States of America denied a diplomatic visa to Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi.

Modi, already holding a US tourist and business visa, was also informed that these too have been revoked with immediate effect.

The reason given by the US was “serious violation of religious freedom”.

Various groups there had lobbied long and hard and sometimes with a great deal of animation before US lawmakers, thereby successfully bringing the matter to the forefront of public attention.
