^^^Abby and McGee, whose combined age is around 40.

It still looks like a white skinned woman with short dark hair to me.

This investigation really reminds me of that show “numbers.”

I know, however, that this is a horrible situation for those who lost loved ones and those who are injured, and the heroes are real heroes.

I hope they catch them quickly.

ZM, to me it looks like an Asian male or female. While it’s heavily pixilated (is that a word?) the cheek bones and facial structure look more Asian than Caucasian. Based on body muscle structure, I’d guess male. Just my best guess.

Looks like no arrest. Sigh.

ETA: Nevermind, after watching the video I’m going with white male with dark brown hair.

Now, it is reported that there is no arrest, no suspect in custody.

[Marathon’s deadly moments captured from office building above finish line - PhotoBlog](<a href=“Photo: Latest Compelling Image Galleries. Photos & More - NBC News | NBC News”>Photo: Latest Compelling Image Galleries. Photos & More - NBC News | NBC News)

here are a number of closer pics of the person I think they are talking about?

It makes no sense whatsoever to me that the guy in the video is the culprit or one of the culprits. (Never mind that I don’t see running away from a bomb explosion as being “suspicious.” He certainly wasn’t the only one.) Anyway, why would he have hung around after dropping the package until the bomb exploded? I thought the suspect was supposedly someone seen on video putting down a package before the explosions and walking away.

I agree, he/she is too closed with all the nails and pellets in there, he/she would be in range for injury. I hope this person does not get into a lot of trouble or unfairly targeted.

And from the looks of it, that is right across from the Library, Lord & Taylor would be a little west further down and across the street.

I agree, Donna. The photos of the bag sitting next to that mailbox and these photos don’t jive timewise. The individual would have had ample time to get away and this person in the photo was clearly there when the bomb went off and has had his/her clothing ripped by the debris. And, no, he/she doesn’t look like a dark-skinned man.

I also don’t understand how the AP and the other news organizations who confidently reported that at least two law enforcement sources had told them that a suspect was in custody could have been so wrong. It makes me think that their “law enforcement sources” aren’t really that close to the center of the investigation.

Futhermore, I think it is very irresponsible that WCVB or what ever stations that have these photo and have this person highlighted in a bubble as a suspect. What a terrible thing to do.

I wish everyone would just keep their mouths shut until an arrest is actually made. The poor Saudi man and his roommate had to deal with that stigma and now it will forever be out on the internet for a google search. This young man WILL be identified and his name will forever be linked to this tragedy.

It really makes me angry. I said the same thing during Sandy Hook.

I’m not saying that the person in the photos is the guy/gal. But as far as hanging around goes… The perpetrator knew that explosion zone would be fairly small (remember the 78 yr old runner who fell during the first explosion but was not hurt by shrapnel?), and the human bodies around the device would absorb pellets, nails, etc. so technically one could hang around within a close yet safe distance to watch the explosion and the damage their creation would cause.

I’m really mad that AP and many others were too eager to cite the “trusted” sources!

I think that the most maddening speculation I have seen is from folks declaring that this was the work of the CIA… that the blood spilled was from *paint balls/i and that the interviews of witnesses were rehearsed.

Everything… everything bad that happens is staged by the government, according to these nutters. Not one atrocity is caused by a bad guy behaving badly. Gah.

^^Same filter should be applied to other circumstances. By us, I mean.

Now a reporter on the Boston.com is saying despite what the US Attorney is saying, a suspect is in custody and being questioned according to her source.

Some people are just sick, Village. Some people are incapable of looking past their prejudices and own vile hatred to find the truth. We saw an example of that on this very thread and it’s apparent on every comments section of a news report.

Depending on which source you read, a suspect definitely is or definitely is not in custody.

Schroedinger’s suspect?

Village Mom, I absolutely despise people like you describe. It’s the same kind of people who were saying that the Sandy Hook/Newtown shootings were faked, and no children were really killed, and it was all a government-staged fraud. I don’t understand how anyone gives these people a platform; they’re no different from all the lunatics who used to say that the moon landings were fake. Tinfoil hats.
