Bombing hits BostonMarathon

Okay, I’m confused. So why did we see a photo of the younger suspect supposedly inside the 7-11 during the robbery?!

Yes he is in a boat in someone’s backyard. Helicopters saw that he is alive and moving around. Neighbor reported there was a ladder to the boat that wasn’t there yesterday which tipped police off.

skolnik says he’s alive and surrounded

Interesting, the FBI already interviewed this guy in the past:

[FBI interviewed dead Boston bombing suspect years ago - CBS News](http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-201_162-57580534/fbi-interviewed-dead-boston-bombing-suspect-years-ago/)

The story mentions that the FBI had also interviewed Hasan Nadal the Fort Hood shooter and Carlos Bledsoe an Islamic convert who shot up an Army recruiting station in Little Rock prior to their attacks.

On one hand its good that these guys were at least on the radar. On the other hand since they were, you’d hope there was some way it could have been prevented.

So it’s about 5,000 to 1. Don’t think we need to worry much more.

They are referring to a structure that was easy to gain access to- they won’t say on CNN it is a boat, but they are saying he could get into it because there are openings in the structure. It sounds like they are trying to get people out of the surrounding houses because a first responder had a young girl in his arms and was running from a house.

WBZ reported that the officials told them that they really want to capture him alive so that they can question him to answer a lot of of unanswered questions.

Thermal imaging was the key in finding him in the boat.

Too ridiculous, CNN is ticked they aren’t allowed close enough and are now showing pictures of the trailored boat via Google Earth.

and now twitter is back to body on boat, not moving

They believe the “body” is the 2nd suspect and he is moving as of 2 minutes ago. He is in boat, under tarp on land.

On the other hand, there are likely lots of people on the FBI’s radar who never do anything criminal. Figuring out which ones are about to do something criminal and stopping them in the act or preparation is not necessarily an easy task.

So this is a stand-off, for how long can this go on?

If they really have him surrounded, and he’s in a confined structure with no hostages, why shouldn’t they wait as long as it takes? They can certainly hold out longer than he can! What do you want them to do, rush in and kill him? That would only encourage all the conspiracy theorists, apparently including his own mother. (I guess if the FBI interviews someone, that means they’re “controlling” them, and told them to do whatever they did.)

Can’t believe that I am getting the news on CC before TV!

CNBC just showed the house and the original gunfire that I can only surmise was aimed at the boat. I don’t see how anyone could have survived that. Rapid fire that went on for quite some time.

I don’t think it will last long. I suspect they are safely getting people out of the surrounding houses in case there are explosives. Fox news is reporting that the homeowner noticed blood near the shed and the boat.

If the suspect is surrounded and is not holding any hostages, then it hardly matters how long it goes on in terms of what the outcome will be (either the suspect surrenders, tries to fight his way out under basically impossible odds, or (if already wounded) dies).

However, a lengthy standoff may be rather inconvenient for people living in the area. (Or even if the suspect dies from previous wounds but the police don’t figure that out for a while.)

If it takes 6 months to extract suspect alive…allow 6 months. Most of the time when bad guys get cornered by swat teams…the suspect ends up dead in short order. Wait it out as long as it takes to get him out alive. What’s the rush?

He is surrounded and no where to go, according to the report.

And yes, they have evacuated everyone in the surrounding.

Thermal imaging from police helicopter show someone in the boat but still conflicting reports about whether the body is moving.
