Bombing hits BostonMarathon

I am so glad he is “contained” in a boat and not in a house with hostages.

A “backyard getaway boat” ??

sorry … saw it as a hashtag on Twitter and thought it was clever.

No more movement in the boat and helicopter left. There are still a lot of law enforcement officials in the area, as well as reporters.

It will be very unfortunate if they don’t capture him alive. There needs to be an interrogation. Were the 2 brothers working alone?

The reporters are saying they’re still trying to capture suspect alive.

I’m thinking about that homeowner who was probably holed up in the house all day, perhaps with that guy in the backyard. I can’t even imagine…

Think the police are now “assaulting” the boat with fire. Doubtful he will survive. Boat is relatively small - think Boston Whaler.

They are trying to capture him alive, but there were times when they discharge a lot of gun fire at him, too many to be just warning shots even just moments ago.

The homeowners seem shaken up, understandably; they were evacuated and officers took over homes closest to boat. The helicopter has returned but further perimeter around boat.

I hope that no one else gets hurt (except the bomber).

That homeowner is a hero. Good attention to detail. Noticed the ladder up against the boat that hand’t been there earler. Bravo.

I am hearing reporters speculate that he would likely have been hit by the earlier gunfire and without medical attention would excanguinate.

Seems like the police got a break here. Police call off the lockdown for residents. A resident notices something suspicious and calls it in. Obviously, they didn’t find him when they did the yard by yard, house by house sweep of the area. Or am I missing details?

Brighter light from helicopter being shone on boat. No official word about further movement by suspect 2. Blood on boat was clue homeowners saw and alerted state troopers.

Large amount of blood according to all reports.

Ok, jym, I admit it. I had to look up excanguinate. Kind of figured it out given the context but just to double check.

SAT word of the day :)

And now they are reporting a fire in the boat. If true, its almost over.

Reports are that a fire has broken out on the boat.

Didn’t we capture Bin Laden with about 15 guys?

Homeowner is reported saying that no one knocked on their door or searched their house and is upset about it…

A barrage of gunfire a couple of hours ago. Did the police shoot at the boat when they got the report? This won’t look good if that suspect is found dead, shot up, with no suicide vest, unarmed in that boat. Did his brother’s suicide vest go off?

Ahem, but the word is spelled “exsanguinate” – you know, “sang” as in blood.
