@nycgirl20 thanks
Does anyone know what is the transfer acceptance rate for last year?
Financial Aid Update: $0.00
@biogendude was that after an appeal, or was that your main financial aid package?
Has anyone gotten an admissions decision from BU since the beginning of May? It seems as though BU really hasn’t released that many transfer decisions.
@mislysBB I received my decision on May 5th
I got 5500 dollars for FA. wtf
@mislysBB That was my initial financial aid package.
Accepted with 3.5 college GPA, 15 APs, 3.7 High School GPA, and around 10 ECs. I received my acceptance on 4/14. But I don’t think I will be attending because they don’t give much aid, even after I appealed.
@biogendude damn, that’s bad. Honestly, I wouldn’t attend BU if they give me zip financial aid.
@xonnaux I don’t know if you’ve been accepted to BU or not, but when I e-mailed BU and asked them specifically why some transfers have to provide spring grades and others don’t, this was the answer they gave me:
“The Board of Admissions decides that for some students, they would like to see final spring grades prior to making an admission decision. This can be based on the timing of when mid-term grades were received or just because they would like to see the finalized grades to ensure that a student is maintaining the same academic performance. Also, students who are part of the “Guaranteed Transfer” population typically have to submit spring grades as part of the conditions for this program. This isn’t something to be concerned about in terms of your chances of being admitted to BU. Hope that helps!”
@mislysBB Sorry for not updating you… I got accepted to CAS about a few days ago. They did not ask for spring grades though. Trust me when I say that I do understand your frustration with the prolonged waiting. But hey, I got in even with my legendarily embarrassing high school grades. So, I am sure that you WILL get in - sooner or later. When will you receive your spring grades? Do you need to respond to any offer anytime soon?
@xonnaux Congrats to you. My high school GPA was a 2.9, so I guess you can’t get much worse than that. I receive my spring grades on the 18th of May, and am going to have them faxed to BU on that day. I have an enrollment deposit due for Northeastern on June 1st, which is cutting it close for me. I am going to ask BU, once they receive my spring grades, to put me on the read early list. If that doesn’t work, then I might have to ask Northeastern if they can extend my enrollment deposit deadline. If that doesn’t work, then I don’t know what I am going to do…
@mislysBB I am very positive that your plans will work just fine. Hang in there and all the best!
@mislysBB you’re going to get in! My high school gpa was a 2.7 and my SAT scores, that’s a whole other story. As long as you have a strong college gpa, which happened in my case. I got into CAS for biology with my horrible high school stats. You shouldn’t worry, have faith. You got this!
are people still waiting to hear back? I haven’t heard back yet
@transfer1996 is your entire application complete? you could ask to be placed on the read-early list if need to meet a deadline for another college or school.
I don’t want to sound stupid, but how does one go about requesting to be on an early review list? Because i tried by sending an email a week or 2 ago, and they did not say they were putting me on the review list and here I am still waiting for an admissions decision…
@jczaja24 if you used the admissions@bu.edu e-mail, you should have gotten a response from an admissions counselor telling you that they placed your application on the read early list. Or you can call BU and ask them.
@mislysBB Heyyyyyy… So, have you heard back?

@xonnaux, nope, because I’ve got a really stupid situation going on with my grades. I’ll explain:
So, I took four classes this semester, and the final grades were all due last Sunday night. Well, I had one professor who didn’t put her final grade in until LAST NIGHT, so I have been literally stalling all this week, waiting for her to put the stinkin grade in. To make it a little better (not really) my college that I attended for the past year will not let me send just my final grades; they require me to send my entire transcript, which I have to pay for, and it takes 2-3 days for the grades to be sent out.
So yeah, BU won’t be getting my final grades until late next week, at best. I think I am going to have to look into calling Northeastern and seeing if they will extend my enrollment deposit due date. So no, I haven’t been accepted yet.
