"Breaking Bad" final season starts August 11th - SPOILER ALERT

^ I like the way you’re thinking, mimk6, and I hope you’re right.

Speculation/possible spoiler follows (like I have any idea of what might happen): I read an article yesterday in which the actors were asked which scene in the series was hardest for them to do. Aaron Paul’s response was that we hadn’t seen it yet. This was before last night’s episode, but I don’t think we saw anything last night that would necessarily fit that description (especially considering what we’ve seen from him previously). At the very least, I’m expecting some kind of final scene between Walt and Jesse.

I DVR’d it (other people watching football) and watched it this morning at 7. What a way to start the week.

The looks that were exchanged between Walt and Jesse while Walt is walking in to surrender said so much and so little about their relationship. No words–just looks that left one wondering if Walt was angry or sorry or both. And was Jesse buying any of it?

Great acting by Aaron Paul as Hank approached Walt with the handcuffs…mixed hope and disbelief. He looked like he expected Walt to vaporize them somehow, as he warned them it never turns out like you plan. Perhaps he wasn’t all that surprised when the trucks came into view.

Spoiler: AP said in an interview that he went through the final scenes knowing he can never play Jesse again. That says to me, Jesse is going to die.

Oh, I’m sure that Jesse is dead - if he didn’t die during that gunfight last night, he will be dead next week. In those flash forward sequences, I can’t see why Walt would bring a machine gun back to kill Jesse.

I find myself wondering what Marie will do next. If Hank really is dead, what is her next step? She would know that Walt is involved with Hank’s death - so does she go after Skyler? Does she tell Walt Jr what his father is really up to?

Does Saul die?

News today that AMC green lights “Better Call Saul.”

It’s a prequel, which allows the death of Saul–or not.

Thanks for the update - hope it’s a successful show! I’ve been wondering if the show’s creators would decide to punish Saul by killing him off, though I think it makes dramatic sense for someone like Saul to be the last man standing. (He lost me, however, when he suggested that Jesse represents “an Old Yeller-type situation.”)

<a href=“He%20lost%20me,%20however,%20when%20he%20suggested%20that%20Jesse%20represents” title=“an Old Yeller-type situation.”>quote

Jesse is no longer an asset, he is now a threat, so he suggests Walt eliminate the threat.

I understood what he meant, having wept through many a showing of Old Yeller. I meant that he lost me as a member of Team Goodman. :D

I’m starting to wonder if Marie won’t be the avenging angel who takes Walt down in the end. Her devotion to Hank, her feeling that her niece must get way from her parents, and the deep seated anger and desire to kill Walt that she expressed to her shrink tell me that she’ll be a walking time bomb if/when Hank dies.

I think she will commit suicide if Hank dies. Remember, Walt comes back so obviously at that point Marie hasn’t taken him out yet, and I doubt she would be able to do anything to him when he has a M60.

I want to know who the ricin is for…

I think it’s Marie who trashes the house.

^ I would love to see that.

Marie trashes the house… What a terrific idea!

Which would create a whole new catch phrase: Going Purple

As in, “Don’t make me go purple on you!”

“She caught her kid doing X and went purple.”

My son–full credit where due–argued that from a writer’s perspective Marie is not a major enough character to be the undoing of Walt.

Thanks for the link, kathiep - that’s hilarious!

And yet - does anyone remember how the mighty Omar died on “The Wire”?

Actually, I’m still wondering if Marie rats out Walt to Walt Jr.

Never saw the wire… But it’s on my list.

When this episode ended I just sat there shocked. Holy cow.

Here’s my take:

Jessie sneaks away.
Hank and the other cop die.
Walt manages to not get killed although it sure didn’t seem like anyone was trying to miss him in the shoot out.
Marie ends up with the kids …and the money.
Skylar…no idea…maybe she loses it and ends up in the psych ward.

Alright now I need to watch it again.
