"Breaking Bad" final season starts August 11th - SPOILER ALERT

Program note: Vince Gilligan says that this Sunday’s episode (Spet 15th) is “the best epiosde of Breaking Bad to date.” Yikes!

I just rewatched the show and at the very end you can see Jesse on the ground outside the car.

How do you figure this if Hank and Gomez are both killed and Jesse disappears?

It would make a lot more sense if Marie lost it rather than Skylar knowing Marie’s history of mental issues.

sax - I just rewatched the last episode and didn’t see Jesse on the ground, what did I miss?

Right at the very end they show a pull away shot and at the bumper of the car Jessie was in (in the background) you can see a body scuffing on the ground. It can only be Jessie. It’s in the 51 minute mark and only for a second but its there.

Or I’m imagining it…hahahaha

I’ve noticed that AMC plays last weeks show right before the new one, so I’m going to flip there early and watch the last ten minutes!

I think that Jesse is going to somehow wiggle away and Walt is going to have a change of heart and tell the killer gang that he wasn’t there OR the gang will have seen Jesse and tell him that they have to cook for them too or they’ll kill him.

I had to rewind and do a slowmo just to catch that scuffling body. It could be Gomez since the long shot shows the rear bumper of Walt’s car near the front bumper of Hank’s SUV. Frankly, I’m hoping it’s John Mclane pulling a bazooka out of Walt’s car so he can aim it towards the Nazi clan.

…be hittin’ the fan.

What a show!!!

Yes great show. All pretense that Walt was doing any of this for anyone but himself is gone.

So, DH and I are pretty sure that Walt knew the cops were there during his phone call with Skyler. He was acting for them, right? Making it clear that he was in charge and called all the shots, etc…to deflect the cops off prosecuting Skylar?
To protect her before he faded away to that van pickup site???

I think his last phone conversation with Skylar was a deliberate one, aimed at giving the police (who he had to know would be listening after Walt Jr. called 911) a message that Skylar had been an innocent and had been threatened into remaining silent about his activities. He went full Heisenberg in that soliloquy to give her a chance to be believed that she had been a victim and not a willing participant in his activities. It was a last gift to his family (along with returning Holly).

(cross posted with musicmom)

^^^^^
Absolutely. But I was too dumb to realize it as I watched.

^ me too hotcanary–my adrenaline is still racing, but obviously that’s why he did it.

I think Vince Gilligan is trying to kill us.

Yes, I think Walter was protecting Skylar and I think she realized it during the conversation. Although Walter has turned to the dark side, I think he had some redemptive moments tonight – when he tried to save Hank, when he was genuinely devastated by his death and also by returning the baby and protecting Skylar. I think he turned on Jessie because he blames him for Hank’s death. And because he knew he ratted him out. I wasn’t clear why he took responsibility for Hank’s death though. Why would he want his family to believe he killed Hank?

I’m thinking that he wants to get revenge on the Neo-Nazi clan on his own, and doesn’t want the feds going after them. That would explain the foreshadowing of his coming back to Albuquerque with an assault weapon.

I think Walt went out of his way to sound like an abusive husband so all the blame will be placed on him and none on Skyler. I’m not sure why Walt made everyone think he killed Hank. It’s hard to think while watching the Niners lose. He probably wanted everyone to know he was dangerous enough to go after his family so the police will provide protection for them in case the Nazi clan goes to Walt’s house.

Holly should be nominated in the Emmy Awards as best supporting actress. The timing and delivery of the “Mama” lines were perfect and brought tears to my eyes. Can we have a Holly spin-off as she heads off to college presuming she did not die?

Good review of the episode in Time, and some astute comments - the chess move in the firehouse, Skyler and Marie dressed in black and white like chess pieces. And yes the black hole that was Walt’s mouth after Hank was killed.

Loved the shot of Walt rolling the barrel through the desert past that pair of pants on the ground that had to have been his pants that flew off the RV back in season 1.

Did anyone else notice when they were issuing the Amber Alert and said that Holly was 18 months old? How is that possible? The whole show has only spanned the period of about a year, and Skyler was pregnant for the first few months. And there’s no way the baby shown in that car seat was 18 months old – she was way too small!
