Bristol Palin & Levi Johnston

How I Met Your Mother and Her Mother.

coureur, LOL!

So, if you look at this article, it is accompanied by a video by Jeannie Moos about this latest engagement development. Sounds like the couple are thinking of camouflage vests for Levi and son for the wedding attire (not far off from a poster’s suggestion above of a bullet proof vest, LOL):

I read an article about Bristol in a magazine, I can’t remember what one. She does have a full-time job in a doctor’s office and has her own condo in Anchorage. So she’s not just staying home at her parents’ house taking care of the babies.

I feel a little sorry for Bristol, because I think she’s been taken in by Levi. It’s just too suspicious that just as his ride on the gravy train is stuttering to an end, he attaches himself to the Palin family again. I wish them well, but while I don’t agree with Sarah Palin on anything else, I think she is 100% right in her feelings about her daughter’s fiance.

Just got home and catching up on this thread. As soon as I heard the news this morning, I figured there’d be a thread!!

Anyone comment yet that Levi has been going by the name “Ricky Hollywood” ? Any suggestions for engagement/wedding gifts?

Hey, 07dad-- I just read that you are accusing me of skipping off with the wager money from the birthday bet!!! I donated it to Levi’s mom for bail money so she could see her grandson. Apology accepted.

** (forgot to mention-- I first offered the $$ to DadII to help pay his kids’ tuition, but the winnings would apparently have increased his EFC too much)

I feel a little sorry for Levi because I think he’s been taken in by Bristol.

Along with picking the actual wedding date and whether Sarah will attend, perhaps we could also bet on who is being taken in by whom. For those who believe in true love, there is the option of picking “neither.”

Since jym626 admits to having used the prior pool money to try and help Sherry Johnston, it appears that we will need everyone to ante again. So, send in the cover price of 4 US/People issues along with your picks and STAY TUNED to CC for the breaking news on Love, Wasilla Style.

Admits??
That poor woman has no more oxycontin or THC or whatever else she needs to make it through her day in Wasilla. The “save Sherry” momentum was strong here on cc-- but it must have been backchannel Now-- do we start a “save Bristol” or “save Levi” (err… Ricky Hollywood). Better yet-- lets put the $$ towards sending the winner of the contest to Wasilla so they can be up close and personal for the wedding. They must have some nice Motel 6’s up there to stay at…

BTW, oh ye of little faith-- Longprime was the winner of the birthday pool http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1061548282-post381.html</a></p>

*** wait wait-- according to 3bm103 the winner was NSM http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1061551990-post399.html</a></p>

I think they are in litigation over the distribution of the winnings. 07DAD – you are an attorney-- weren’t you handling this case? You were supposed to have handled this, and addressed the distribution of the $0.47 in winnings http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/1061551990-post399.html</a> How’d this get put back on me?? Slacker…

Ohm, Ohm – in the cosmic scheme of things aren’t we all winners?

Now the idea of raising money by having an invite to the Wedding in Wasilla (not to be confused with the Thriller in Manila] as the prize has a certain appeal.

Great idea, since I am guessing seats at the wedding will be for sale. After selling the story of their engagement to the media to finance a wedding (and attorney fees?), I am guessing Levi and Bristol will sell seats at the wedding to pay for a honeymoon – to visit the NASCAR Hall of Fame, perhaps, or maybe Russia, which Bristol grew up seeing from her house?

You guys are hysterical!

I’m voting for “What’s Up Wasilla?” - double entendre fully intentional.:)

I think given their age and current circumstances, that’s a very good thing. In fact, many churches require pre-marital marriage counseling if the couple wishes to be married in that particular church. I don’t see how marriage counseling could ever be a bad thing, quite frankly. I know some couples who have built it into their marriage at intervals, even during times of harmony, as another tool to help keep their marriages healthy.

“I think given their age and current circumstances, that’s a very good thing.”

I agree. I think that premarital counseling can be an excellent way of avoiding problems in one’s marriage, and is appropriate for people of all ages.

Levi did a guest shot on Cathy Griffin’s show when she went up to Anchorage for a show. He actually came across pretty well as just a fairly funny nice guy that got caught up in the national hype machine. He looked much happier ice-fishing with his buddy. Given the opportunity for a nice payday on the story he’d be a fool not to take the money and payoff the house.

Rockvillemom, I think the correct pronunciation would be “Wassup Wassilla?”

I too think counseling is a great idea.

But, it seems they have a lot going for them. They clearly are sexually compatible and fertile. That seems important if Bristol is true to mom’s form of having children in multiple decades.

As barron indicates, Levi --as a funny guy --has a sense of humor, which seems to be an important characteristic to women.

If the money from the photos pays off his house, they will have an economic head-start on most married couples.

Bristol seems to think there is love since she stated that but for Sarah running for VP she and Levi would already be married.

Cute kid, too!

Not to pick on pre-marital counseling, but ours (mine & ex-H) didn’t really take… and the Episcopal priest (married at the time) who performed the counseling was later arrested as a pedophile…

Seriously, I think Levi & Bristol probably have both grown up quite a bit this last year, although much of it the hard way. Not saying they have a great chance of success in their marriage, but since they have a kid together, I say kudos to them for giving it a try. More power to them, in my opinion, if they keep some distance from SP, might improve their chances of success.

While they may have grown up, she is stil only 19, IIRC. He can’t be much older. Prognosis is not the best for young marriages- and factor in the limelight they live in – I’ll give it 2 yrs tops. Sad but true. I would love to be proved wrong.
