BU RD Class of 2022

rejected
honestly heartbroken as this was my dream school

@ParentPK You make no mention of the bottom line cost at those three colleges. Is that a factor in the decision?

Rejected but got guaranteed transfer admit. I didn’t know that was a thing. Anyone know how common it is? Any of my fellow rejects get it too?

@pugnnnn1 If admitted to the Kilachand Honors College, there should be a tab alongside your welcome letter tab saying “Kilachand Honors College Welcome”. Once clicking on it, a welcome letter for the Honors program would appear. There should also be an invitation for the RSVP Kilachand Honors College Luncheon

@StressssedOut Based on postings in this thread the guaranteed sophomore transfer is quite common. It allows BU to reduce the freshman class size and lower the acceptance rate.

Congrats to everyone admitted! I wish you all the best!

@ParentPK def NOT BU// i fyou have honors programs at NE and UNC those def would be the better schools. their econ are better programs BU is more for sciences and internships. which UNC and NE are better at internships. I have read articles on comparisons of NE vs BU and locations, programs and internship opportunities if you wan to be in BOston better school would be NE. good luck

Child accepted. No update on Kilichand Honors. How do we check status

Accepted to CAS with thank you message. 3.82 UW, 4.12W, 1460 SAT, 32 ACT. Took two AP’s junior year and am currently taking 4 AP’s. BU was my favorite school but I didn’t receive any FA or scholarships. I’m crushed.

@momclassof2018 He should have a Kilachand Honors College Welcome tab in his portal if accepted

Accepted to Northeastern, Syracuse Newhouse, and many others, but given guaranteed transfer to BU… I guess I needed something to take me off my high horse. Congrats to all who got in!!

Accepted to CGS January Boston-London program.
white male
GPA 3.96 UW, 4.3W
SAT 1300
WA state, private school
Legacy
$0 financial aid or merit

I was accepted to Northeastern, Emory, and Hopkins (among others, which were safeties), and I was just denied at BU. 4.5 W 3.8 UW, 34 ACT and great ECs, hispanic female. I was told it was target-safety but everything happens for a reason!! I like Northeastern much better either way and think it would be a MUCH better fit. Congrats to all who got in!!!

Accepted international student into CAS!
1410 SAT, full IB diploma–predicted 41, think my essays are more fitting for the east coast schools than the west coast ones so good essays, I guess?
Strong ECs including an internship.
If the portal message makes a difference to your admissions decisions, mine also changed from ‘our records indicate’ to ‘thank you’.
Also accepted to Northeastern.
Congrats to all that were accepted!

@undergrad2018 Thank-you for that information, I did not know that. Sounds like it (Sophmore Transfer to BU) is certainly worth keeping open as an option then.

If you applied for Trustee (and didn’t get it) there should be a tab that says “scholarship decision”. For Kilachand, there should be a “welcome tab”, and if there isn’t one then I think that means you weren’t accepted to honors. Congrats to everyone who got in! If anyone cares/is reading this next year, I’ve been admitted to CU Boulder (safety), the U of Minnesota, UW- Madision, the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor, and now BU. Stats: 34 ACT, 4.2 GPA (for conversion purposes, that’s all A’s and 2 A-‘s). I had plenty of EC’s, but none were super impressive. I spent a ton of time on my essays, so I’m guessing those are pretty important in terms of not getting yield-protected. I actually got decent FA even though I am middle-class. Still waiting on 7 more decisions but this was a really good day!

Thank you!:)

:x

@undergrad2018

I’m not sure whether to pursue the 2019 transfer. It feels like a consultation prize. I guess it depends how I end up liking where I go for freshman year. If anyone has any thoughts on the transfer thing as a whole is be interested in hearing them
