@YoungOne4 That would depend on your alternatives.
@sagra There may be a small number of scholarships that are school related but in general aid is not affected by chosen program.

Is it hard to make friends in the CGS program that starts in January? Do you feel like a fish out of water because school started in September for most of the freshman class?
@a12l34 If I understood what I have read in the BU literature, that January cohort consists of 400 students. So, no, I don’t think you will have any trouble making friends, or feeling like a fish out of water at anytime, even when rejoining the CGS sophs in Fall 2019.
Could you please confirm 53K for 1490 SAT. sounds like a fantastic offer to me
Just got accepted into the CAS. Super excited about BU, but unfortunately did not receive a lot of financial aid. I was a little surprised I was accepted after looking at the low acceptance rate this year and all the great candidates that were rejected, but, you never know.
From a very small, very challenging public school.
UW GPA: 3.75
SAT: 1280
ACT: 31
AP Bio: 3
APUSH: 4
3 varsity sports for 4 years, captain for 2
80+ hours of internships at dentist offices
Volunteers with kids weekly
Quiz Bowl Team States Champs
Job at restaurant for 2 years
Strong Common App and Supplemental Essays
Congrats to all who got in!
To everyone that gets rejected, do not worry. My cousin last year got into MIT but rejected from BU. Maybe over qualified, but she also got rejected from cornell and other ivies.
I’m heartbroken. BU is my dream school and I got accepted into the CAS but I received zero scholarships and zero financial aid. I guess my stats are only average, nothing special to get a scholarship (I did apply for the Trustee scholarship). 3.82 UW, 4.12W GPA, 1460 SAT (780 math, 680 RW), 32 ACT. President of my school’s Chinese club, part of the National Chinese Soceity, volunteer math tutor, paid Chinese tutor, intern at an office, varsity sport, and took Multivariable Calculus my first semester of senior year via video lessons. Took 2 APs last year (5 on AP Calc BC, 5 AB subscore, 4 on AP Physics 1) and 3-4 this year (Bio, Econ, and Stats. MVC counted as an AP for my first semester but now the course is over). I might have to stay home for my first year of college and try to transfer later on.
I need help figuring out how to pay for BU –
It’s my dream school. I’ve been working towards getting in since freshman year, and I finally did this past weekend.
I got into the Kilachand’s Honors College, but received no scholarships.
What do I do???
@ave2291 What did the BU NPC say that you would be paying? How much can your parents pay? If you received no need based aid at all your parents’ income must be moderately high.
well BU sometimes does this where they dont give out much aid to some students regardless of need
accepted to CAS with 3.93 gpa weighted and a 1330 sat. received $57,000 too!
@Larkin29 in the financial aid section did it specifically say tuition exchange? I also applied for tuition exchange but have heard nothing and my applicant status still says awaiting decision.
Denied.
1330
3.7 Weighted GPA
Strong Essay and EC’s
i got my decision from BU that i didn’t get accepted for this coming year but i am guaranteed admission for the 2019 school year. Has anyone heard of this before?
@caicos2000 There is an entire thread here on CC about that option.
Got rejected My stats were okay but my supplement (looking back) was subpar. At the time of my application, I didn’t realize how much BU fit me and half-assed the supplement. However, I really like BU now…how are they with scholarships for transfer students?
@ave229 SAME! Kilachand with NO aid or scholarship. Who can afford $70,000/year = $280,000 for an undergraduate degree? 5.2 weighted GPA, 34 ACT, tons of leadership and sports and community service. I thought there would be a presidential scholarship…
Wow, @CatherineF !!! It’s amazing to me that this has happened to soo many high achieving Kilachand kids. Doesn’t BU have the foresight to consider yield and retaining their first choice super achievers?
Same for my Daughter with very similar higher end stats 34act ,4.0 UW ,etc etc… No merit after getting approximately $30,000 from all the BU peer schools she applied to. No way we would consider BU for full $. Not helping their yield…
Son received no Kilachand, no merit, no fin. aid. 35 ACT. 3.9 UW. Lots of ECs, etc. Rules BU out.
