Still no decision. Is it safe to say I got rejected?
ok so is it safe to say that all acceptances are done, they are only sending out waitlists and then they will send denials?
@49gold My son was accepted to Civil Engr. last week. 4606 MCA.

3.71 cal poly gpa

Out of state
My friend from my same school got into the same major as me (biochem) on Thursday, with a 3.65 and 1340. Our stats are so similar but I haven’t heard back which is stressing me out super hard.
hi there. I am a transfer in state applicant with a communications major into the college of liberal arts at cal poly SLO. I have yet to hear back from the admissions office and just wanted to hear from a few others and see if any transfers had heard back yet. Thank s so much.
@samssommers I don’t think Transfer acceptances have started posting yet. They should be starting very soon, as they typically follow freshman acceptances by a couple of days. Good luck to you!

This is the thread you need to keep tabs on. Good luck!
Dont fret high stat kids that did not get accepted. Depending on the major Calpoly just does not have a lot of space. My daughter did not get in for bio two years ago. We later found out 5000 applied for 140 spots. The weeks after she was rejected by Calpoly acceptances came in for UC Davis, UC Santa Cruz, UC Santa Barbra,UC Irvine, UW, waitlst UC San Dieago, and a few private schools as well. In the end only Calpoly abd Cal rejected her. She is thriving at a great UC right now that is a better fit.Calpoly is a great school and i wish those on the waitlist good luck.
No, not at all. As long as you’re not rejected on your portal, you have a chance.
My son was accepted on 3/1 for Ag Business. In State. Do you know what his MCA score was to get into the Schoold of business?
@smhs101 So if I’m reading the data you posted correctly, as an example, Biochemistry for 2017. 1,110 applicants for a total of 59 spots, ~ 5.5% acceptance rate?
Yep @sandiegodad2017 that’s how I read it too.
S waitlisted ArchE
instate MCA 4380
are acceptances over???
got waitlisted
@CaliKenMom Sheesh - looking through that data and it’s very tough to get into some of those majors. If I recall they had even more applications this year.
Not sure if Cal Poly Admissions is still holding true to this article (it’s from August 2017) but it might shed some light on why so many well-qualified students are waitlisted this year:
“He says the university’s overall enrollment will decrease next year to achieve the goal of keeping total enrollment to 21,500 students — the number of students in 2016 — and will decrease the 2018 incoming freshman class to 4,500.”
@sandiegodad2017 it’s more like 15% since they admit about 3x more than they have space for knowing 2/3 will accept offer somewhere else instead of Cal Poly.
Exactly @CaliKenMom . Lets not forget that in 2016 San Luis Obispo was named the top College town in America so these numbers based on last year have probably become even more competitive for ALL majors this year. Cal Poly is a desired destination and all of America has become privy to that fact. There are many great school out there though so people should not become too fixated on one. Cal Poly probably should have adjusted it’s yield after San Luis was named the top college town.
@CopperlineX2 Yep - just realized that after I hit send.
